  • Patent number: 11954639
Abstract: A method for detecting the usage of assets includes attaching a tracking device to each asset of a plurality of assets. An identifier associated with the asset is stored on a memory of the tracking device. After an asset has been used or is empty, the asset is physically grouped with other used or empty assets. Using the tracking devices, it is detected that an asset that the tracking device is attached to has been grouped with other assets. The tracking devices associated with the group of assets determine a manifest of asset identifiers for each asset in the group of used or empty assets. An asset tracking system determines that each asset corresponding to the identifiers in the manifest is used or empty.

  • Publication number: 20240025546
Abstract: A detection system tracks assets in a galley of an aircraft. A tracked tape node attached to an asset transmits, at a first interval, a beacon including a unique identifier (ID) of the tracked tape node. One of a plurality of tracking tape nodes, each positioned in a different one of a plurality of asset slots of the aircraft galley, activates a receiver for a first period to receive the beacons and stores the unique ID and a receive signal strength indication (RSSI) of the received beacon in a list ordered on the RSSI. The tracking tape node transmits, at a second interval, a tracking beacon including a tracking ID of the tracking tape node and the list. A mobile device receives the tracking beacons and generates a data structure of assets in the galley. The mobile device compares the data structure to a manifest and graphically indicates discrepancies.

  • Publication number: 20240020495
Abstract: Systems and methods monitor loading of cargo onto a transport vehicle to avoid incorrect cargo loading incidents. A wireless monitoring device positioned near an access port of a cargo hold of the transport vehicle receives a tracking identifier of a wireless tracking tag attached to a logistic container containing the cargo as the logistic container is conveyed into the cargo hold. An alert is generated by the wireless monitoring device when the tracking identifier is not listed in a manifest listing identifiers of wireless tracking tags attached to logistic containers expected to be loaded into the cargo hold. Within the cargo hold, the wireless tracking tags may also exchange their tracking identifiers such that any one of the wireless tracking tags may determine, by counting, when less than a target threshold number of wireless tracking tags are present.

  • Publication number: 20240020503
Abstract: A method and system for replacing a first wireless node in an IoT system includes determining, by the first wireless node, that the first wireless node needs imminent replacement. The determination may be made, for example, based on a battery of the first wireless node being below a threshold level. The first wireless node initiates a discovery protocol for a second wireless node installed in proximity to the first wireless node, the second wireless node installed to replace the first wireless node. Upon discovery of the second wireless node, the first wireless node transmits a configuration file to the second wireless node, which the second wireless node copies to a storage of the second wireless node. The second wireless node configures itself to operate as a replacement for the first wireless node in the IoT system, based at least in part on the copied configuration file.
