Publication number: 20230291975Abstract: Systems and methods for presenting custom navigation options are described herein. In some embodiments, the media guidance application displays a first portion of a media asset, and receives a user selection of an entity depicted within the portion. The media guidance application identifies a playlist of media asset portions associated with the entity, and generates for display a transport bar associated with the entity comprising an indicator identifying the entity and only one or more regions associated with the playlist of media asset portions. The media guidance application then receives a second user selection, and generates for display a second portion of the media asset associated with the entity in response. In some embodiments, the media guidance application identifies the playlist by searching a custom presentation database for entries associated with the entity, and retrieves the playlist from the identified entry.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2023Publication date: September 14, 2023Inventors: William L. Publication number: 20230283845Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for recommending a media asset based on a geographic location at which that media asset was frequently consumed. For example, the system may monitor a location, such as New York City or Times Square, to determine popular media assets watched there, such as “The Avengers,” and when another user visits New York City, the system may then notify the user that the movie, such as “The Avengers,” is associated with New York City. The system stores the geographic locations associated with the media asset in the database based on the consumption of the media asset so that other users may be notified which media assets are associated with each geographic location.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventors: Gabriel C. Dalbec, Jonathan A. Logan, Ajay Kumar Gupta, Alexander W. Liston, William L. Thomas, Margret B. Schmidt, Mathew C. Burns

Publication number: 20230283743Abstract: In some aspects, control circuitry receives and stores a user-specified time duration to associate with a skip-forward command. When the user later issues a skip-forward command to advance playback of a media asset to a desired location, the control circuitry retrieves the stored time duration, and determines an expected overshoot value associated with the skip-forward command. The control circuitry then compensates for the expected overshoot by calculating a new location in the media asset based on both the retrieved time duration and expected overshoot value. Upon advancing to the new location, the media asset is played back in a fast-forward mode, e.g., at a speed higher than normal speed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2023Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventors: Milan Patel, Abubakkar Siddiq, Ajay Kumar Gupta, Sai Rahul Reddy Pulikunta, Sashikumar Venkataraman

Publication number: 20230244522Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine-readable media are disclosed for a global scheduler that manages jobs across nodes of one or more clusters. The global scheduler receives a request to replicate a volume from a first storage node to a second storage node, the global scheduler handling job scheduling for one or more storage operating systems across one or more clusters. The global scheduler stores a new job in a job queue based on the request to replicate the volume. The global scheduler determines that the new job has a higher priority than other jobs in the job queue. The global scheduler allocates one or more resources of the first storage node to the new job in response to determining that the new job has a higher priority than other jobs in the job queue. The global scheduler sends an instruction to run the new job.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2022Publication date: August 3, 2023Inventors: Sivakumar Chandrasekaran, Vikash Kumar Jha, Pranith Kiran Kouda, Rujuta Antarkar, Anuja Inamdar, Raghvendra Dixit, Ajay Kushwah

Publication number: 20230186941Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing a voice input stream with interruptions and/or supplemental comments. Generally, a virtual voice assistant may receive an input stream with a first input comprising a voice query from a first voice and a second input comprising a secondary query from a second voice (e.g., an interruption or a supplement). The virtual assistant may determine that the second voice does not match the first voice, and then process the voice query to produce first results. Some embodiments may determine whether the secondary query is a supplement or an interruption and, e.g., choose to ignore an interruption or set aside a supplement if it may be used to help the search query. In some embodiments, results for the first query may be compared with results for the first query with a portion of the supplement.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 15, 2021Publication date: June 15, 2023Inventors: Ajay Juneja, Vaibhav Gupta, Ashish Gupta, Senthil Kumar Karuppasamy, Reda Harb
