  • Publication number: 20240015595
Abstract: An example system includes a distributed network having a first computer system communicatively coupled to a first set of network nodes, and a second computer system communicatively coupled to a second set of network nodes. The first computer system receives first data from a first network node representing a request for additional network resources; receives second data from the second computer system representing a first set of network resources available for sharing by a second network node; identifies at least a portion of the first set of network resources; transmits, to the first network node and the second computer system, first transaction data representing a sharing of at least the portion of the first set of network resources by the second network node with the first network node; and adds the first transaction data to a distributed ledger of the distributed network.

  • Publication number: 20230269635
Abstract: Techniques discussed herein facilitate cell selection and/or reselection in scenarios involving one or more Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) cells. One example embodiment is a User Equipment (UE) device comprising a processor configured to perform operations comprising: determining one or more suitable cells for one of a cell selection procedure or a cell re-selection procedure, wherein the one or more suitable cells comprise a first cell associated with a satellite of a NTN; determining a ranking for each cell of the one or more suitable cells, wherein the ranking for the first cell is based at least in part on a location of the UE, ephemeris data of the satellite, and one or more additional parameters; selecting a highest ranked cell of the one or more suitable cells based on the determined rankings for each cell of the one or more suitable cells; and camping on the highest ranked cell.

  • Publication number: 20230093120
Abstract: The present application relates to synchronization signal transmission using multiple beams. In an example, a network node may support M beams covering M areas. However, only K<M beams may be used at any time for transmission of synchronization signals. Accordingly, the network node cycles through the K beams allocated to synchronization signal transmission, whereby a synchronization signal is transmitted on K spatially-multiplexed and simultaneously-active beams to reach K coverage areas during a first time period, then next K coverage areas during a second time period, and so on until all of the M coverage areas are reached to restart the cycle. A UE is located in only one coverage area, and would see the synchronization signal beam once during a period of time equal to the time needed to cycle through the M coverage areas.

  • Publication number: 20230093722
Abstract: This disclosure is directed towards improved methods for identifying one or more base stations for connection with user equipment. The user equipment may establish a connection with a base stations based on an estimated location of the base station. Additionally, the user equipment may receive an indication from the base station to scan for additional base stations at additional estimated locations. Further, the user equipment may determine one or more connection parameters (e.g., distance from communication hub to user equipment, angle of communication hub relative to user equipment, shadowing at the communication hub, and the like) associated with the base stations within the geographical area. The user equipment may establish connection with base stations that are determined to have the best signal strength based on the connection parameters.

  • Patent number: 10966067
Abstract: Downlink spectral capacity of an eMBMS cell to be maximized for the eMBMS users. In one embodiment, supplementary eMBMS cells may be used together with a primary cell, in which the supplementary eMBMS cells broadcast only eMBMS content and the primary cell is used for uplink and downlink signaling. The primary cell may perform signaling for the corresponding supplementary cells. In this manner, signaling relating to configuring of the eMBMS cells may be offloaded to the non-eMBMS primary cell and eMBMS specific services can be fully utilized from the eMBMS cells. In a second embodiment, an eMBMS cell may be a standalone eMBMS cell that is not associated with a primary cell. In this embodiment, self-contained eMBMS signaling is defined. Additionally, eMBMS data may be broadcast in specified MBSN subframes. In this manner, a device, such as an eMBMS-only device, can independently receive eMBMS services.
