  • Patent number: 10586308
Abstract: Techniques for removal of obstructions in a digital image scene are described, in which target and source digital images that exhibit parallax, one to another, are obtained that were captured together by an image capture device at a similar point in time using two different lenses of the image capture device. A foreground obstruction is identified based on displacement in apparent position of objects in the target and source digital images. The foreground obstruction is removed from the target digital image, such as by generating an obstruction mask that represents the location of the foreground obstruction and copying pixels from the source digital image to the target digital image based on the locations identified in the obstruction mask. The target digital image with the obstruction removed is output to a user interface or service provider system, for example.

  • Patent number: 10587917
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for recommending a media asset based on a geographic location at which that media asset was frequently consumed. For example, the system may monitor a location, such as New York City or Times Square, to determine popular media assets watched there, such as “The Avengers,” and when another user visits New York City, the system may then notify the user that the movie, such as “The Avengers,” is associated with New York City. The system stores the geographic locations associated with the media asset in the database based on the consumption of the media asset so that other users may be notified which media assets are associated with each geographic location.

  • Patent number: 10587886
Abstract: A sampling filter process is provided for scalable video coding. The process provides for re-sampling using video data obtained from an encoder or decoder process of a base layer (BL) in a multi-layer system using adaptive phase shifting to improve quality in Scalable High efficiency Video Coding (SHVC). In order to compensate for phase offsets introduced by downsampling an appropriate phase offset adjustment is made for upsampling in SHVC with an appropriate offset included for proper luma/chroma color space positions. In one approach the luma/chroma phase offset is specified and a filter is selected to apply the appropriate phase change.

  • Patent number: 10579840
Abstract: RF tags using source addresses to locate stations on a Wi-Fi network are secured. An RF location server receives a pseudo source address of an RF (radio frequency) tag from a station. The station obtains the pseudo source address while being within radio range of the RF tag and the station receiving a beacon frame from the RF tag. A source address for the RF tag is looked-up utilizing the pseudo source address, and a specific location for the RF tag is looked-up utilizing the source address. Some embodiments store the locations in association with the pseudo address. Either way, the specific location of the station is identified based on the source address of the RF tag. An action is determined in response to at least the specific location of the station. Information related to the action is sent to the station for output to a user of the station. For example, a location-based offer or service can be provided in real-time with a consumer's presence to relevant products or services.

  • Patent number: 10581412
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to level-shifting circuitry and time borrowing across voltage domains. In disclosed embodiments, an apparatus includes pulse circuitry, latch circuitry, pull circuitry, and feedback circuitry. The pulse circuitry is configured to generate a pulse signal in response to an active clock edge. The latch circuitry is configured to store a value of an input signal, where the input signal has a first voltage level. The pull circuitry is configured to drive, during the pulse signal, an output of the latch circuitry to match a logical value of the input signal at a second, different voltage level. This may allow the input signal to change during the pulse, enabling time borrowing. The feedback circuitry is configured to maintain the output of the latch circuitry at the second voltage level after the pulse signal.

  • Publication number: 20200068238
Abstract: A system and method for just-in-time embedded watermarking of streaming digital content. The system employs sequential processing to transcode streaming content to embed a user-specific watermark into the streaming content. Additionally, the just-in-time embedded watermarking system transcodes short segments of content on an as-needed basis, in response to user requests, instead of performing bulk transcoding of large amounts of content at once. Accordingly, the just-in-time embedded watermarking system provides consistent and predictable user playback experience. Further, the system automatically supports adaptive bit rate optimization by providing interoperability with multiple potential adaptive bit rates requestable by the content player device. The system watermarks the requested content segment in real-time during the streaming of the content by causing burn-in of the user-specific watermark into the streaming content.

  • Patent number: 10572280
Abstract: The subject matter of this specification generally relates to detecting events that occur within mobile applications without modifying code of the mobile application. In some implementations, a front-end server receives, from a mobile application management application installed on a client device, interaction data specifying (i) a user interaction identifier for a user interaction with an interactive item that presents, at a first mobile application, content for a second mobile application and (ii) an interactive item identifier. The front-end server receives event data specifying an occurrence of a specified user action within the second mobile application and the interactive identifier for the interactive item. A back-end server determines that the specified user action resulted from the user interaction based on a match between the interactive item identifier specified by the event data and the interactive item identifier that links to the user interaction identifier for the user interaction.
