    Abstract: A top entry trunnion mounted rotary ball valve defining a main valve body having an upstream and a downstream ball seat assembly, the ball seat assemblies further including a soft insert seal, a ball seat, a seat retainer and a plurality of compression springs in between the ball seat and the seat retainer. A guiding groove on a cylindrical surface of each of the ball seats, having a first end and a second end at an axial distance equal to or more than a measure of retraction required so as to get a mechanical clearance to remove or assemble the ball member. Each ball seat is retracted in a recess against a force Fc of the compression springs and the mechanical clearance is created between the ball member and the soft insert seal, to remove or assemble the ball member and or any component from inside the valve body.

    Abstract: A rotary ball valve with an improved sealing arrangement, comprising of a valve body and a rotary ball, the rotary ball valve has a plurality of combination sealing arrangement comprising of a polarized combination cavity having a non-parallel slot and an extended groove, an add-on sealing ring and a compatible seat ring having a plurality of non-parallel concentric surfaces, when assembled. The compatible seat ring has a compatible profile so as to create a positive isolation by a surface contact between the add-on sealing ring and the extended groove and create another positive isolation by a surface contact between the add-on sealing ring and the compatible seat ring. The positive isolation prevents leakage during thermal cycling, pressure variations. The non-parallel slot and the compatible sealing ring therein prevents dislodgement of the seat ring; even in double block and bleed condition.

    Abstract: A ball valve (100) with an improved design of a seat ring (20), the ball valve (100) has a valve body (106) with a ball (102) disposed in a central passage (104) of the valve body (106). The ball (102) has a bore (103) through it for communicating with an inlet port (111) and an outlet port (112) of the present at ends of the central passage (104) of the ball valve (100). A pair of seat ring (20) is provided in the central passage (104) on opposite sides of the ball (102). An improved valve seat ring (20) consists of generally a conical structure having dominantly three surfaces—a dynamic surface (22), a static surface (24) and a free surface (26). There is provided a back cavity (28) which is open from the free surface (26). The dynamic surface (22) transitions from a convex profile to a near flat profile to a concave profile which facilitates a wide pressure band of operation of this ball valve with improved seat ring (20).
