  • Patent number: 6193115
Abstract: An exemplary reusable mist sprayer according to the present invention includes a container with an opening which has double walls that is vacuum sealed between the walls to provide insulation from the atmosphere. The exemplary sprayer also includes a plunger to pump atmospheric air into the container. The plunger respectively has a hole and hollow opening at the opposing ends, the hole provides a path for atmospheric air to enter the interior space of the plunger. Enclosing the opening of the container is a removable dispenser mechanism having a protruding end adapted to receive the hollow opening of the plunger, and a flange adapted to removably seal the opening of the container. A one-way valve is associated with the protruding end, which only opens to allow the air within the interior space of the plunger to enter the container as the plunger is being pressed relative to the protruding end.

  • Patent number: 6034875
Abstract: A method and apparatus for cooling electrical components on a substrate during a rework process. A block of a porous, thermally conductive material, saturated with a liquid, is positioned on an electrical component to be cooled. During the rework processing of an adjacent electrical component, the liquid in the porous, thermally conductive block vaporizes, thereby maintaining the temperature of the electrical component below its reflow temperature. A second thermally conductive block, in thermal contact with the porous, thermally conductive block, and the substrate on which the electronic component to be cooled is attached, is positioned between the electronic component to be cooled and the electronic component undergoing rework. A supply of liquid is provided to the porous, thermally conductive block to maintain the temperature of the electronic component to be cooled at a predetermined level for a specified period of time.

  • Patent number: 5925043
Abstract: An electrosurgical blade is provided having a ceramic coating which is conductive, flexible and provides a surface which inhibits the build up of charred tissue. These properties enable the electrosurgical blade to deliver controlled amounts of radio-frequency energy to tissue. The manufacturing process produces a coating of titanium nitride on a stainless steel blade which is amorphous, enabling the electrosurgical blade to bend with the blade in order to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures without damaging the coating. The electrosurgical blade can therefore be used to efficiently cut, coagulate, fulgurate and desiccate tissue. While the blade is primarily used in the monopolar mode, the present invention also encompasses at least two electrosurgical electrodes having the same ceramic coating as the electrosurgical blade, and used in the bipolar mode for coagulation. The coating can be applied on a variety of shapes of electrocautery instruments.
