  • Patent number: 10247332
Abstract: A coupler for coupling together the end portions of two pipes having radial end flanges includes a single piece cylindrical base body having a receiving opening therethrough to receive and surround end portions of the pipes to be coupled and bridging over a gap between the pipes to be coupled. At least one arcuate coupling member having opposite end flanges extending axially inwardly from the ends of the arcuate coupling member with the length between opposite end flanges being greater than the length of the cylindrical base body is connectable to the cylindrical base body in a coupling position to prevent the passage of the radial pipe flanges to thereby secure the end portions of the pipes to be connected in the cylindrical base body in a connected condition. The arcuate coupling members can be pivotally connected to the cylindrical base body so can move between coupling and uncoupling positions.

  • Patent number: 10041613
Abstract: A coupling to connect a pipe end portion to another pipe end portion or to a valve or other fitting wherein the pipe end portion includes a circumferential shoulder includes a flange around an opening into the coupling through which the end portion of the pipe including the circumferential shoulder can be inserted into the coupling. A wheel with a radial channel therein is rotatably mounted on the flange with the flange received in the radial channel which is wide enough to also receive wedge members therein alongside the flange. Once the pipe end with the shoulder is received in the coupling, wedge members are inserted into the radial channel through a cut opening in a portion of the wheel to extend into and reduce the diameter of the opening to hold the shoulder in the coupling. A seal is provided in the coupling to seal the coupling against leakage.

  • Patent number: 7455331
Abstract: A multipurpose coupling is made of two pieces incorporating a partitioning washer ring between them. The coupling is provided with a centrally located interlocking, doubled-up mechanical mechanism, comprised of two mechanisms, where each mechanism performs its intended function in sequence to connect the two pieces of the coupling body, and to secure the coupling to the ends of two pipes simultaneously. The first part of the doubled up mechanism includes two main radial flanges on the inner end of each piece of the coupling body which are held together face to face between secondary radial flanges by means of fasteners extending between the secondary radial flanges. The second part of the doubled up mechanism includes a cylindrical cover having intermittent inner radial shoulders which are interlockable upon rotation of the cylindrical cover with radial flange shoulders positioned intermittently around the main radial flanges.

  • Patent number: 7048309
Abstract: A coupling for attachment to the end portion of a pipe includes jaw members adapted to slide along an inner end taper in the coupling body so that linear movement of the jaw members toward the end of the inner end taper adjacent an end of the coupling body causes movement of the jaw members radially inwardly of the coupling body against the end portion of the pipe when received in the coupling body. The coupling may include a bell type gasket to function as a spring and the spring action of the gasket may be augmented by installing a springy crib ring around the gasket inside the coupling body.

  • Patent number: 7036850
Abstract: A coupling to connect pipe, including lengths of pipe, valves, hoses, and pipe and hose fittings, includes a body to closely receive the end portion of the pipe to be coupled. A set of first class lever jaw members each having a power arm and a weight arm are mounted to the coupling body to establish a fulcrum for rotation of each lever jaw member about the fulcrum between an engaged position and a disengaged position with respect to the pipe end portion when received in the coupling body. The weight arms may include a gripping surface such as a rubber or plastic material or gripping teeth to grip a smooth end portion of a pipe, or the end portion of the pipe may include a shoulder, such as formed by a groove in the end portion, so the weight arms engage the shoulder to secure the pipe in the coupling.

  • Patent number: 6926251
Abstract: A free floating diaphragm flow control valve includes concentric inner and outer bodies, where a partition plate divides the inner body into two equal inlet and outlet chambers. A cylindrical cavity, concentric with the inner and outer cylindrical bodies, provides space for a sheet diaphragm looping around a seat provided by the inner cylindrical body. The doubled up ends of the sheet diaphragm are held together by a tie assembly which has an integral bolt stem held that is shared with an actuator, which actuator, working in tandem with the pipe line's pressurized fluid around the diaphragm, can actuate the diaphragm's tied up ends, to open or close the diaphragm around its seat to control the fluid flow through the valve.

  • Patent number: 6921115
Abstract: A coupling for joining two pipes in end-to-end relationship includes flanges which are sealably secured to end sections of pipes to be connected. The flanges form front inclined faces and adjacent front flanges that are slidably received within opposite end openings of a cylindrical coupling. A groove or shoulder is formed at the rear end of the front flanges that cooperate with jaws extending from the ends of the cylindrical coupling to secure the received pipe end portions in the cylindrical coupling to thereby join the pipes together. One or more gaskets fit in the cylindrical coupling between the ends thereof with gasket arms that abut against the inclined surface so that fluid pressure in the pipes force the gasket arms against the inclined faces to provide a seal between the joined pipes. A stop may be provided to limit the sliding travel of the cylindrical coupling with respect to the flanges.
