  • Patent number: 6203297
Abstract: A fluid flow device and method are provided according to which one or more impellers are mounted for rotation in a chamber formed in a casing. Fluid to be processed is introduced into an inlet formed in the casing and at least one impeller is mounted for rotation in the chamber to flow the fluid through the casing and through an outlet in the casing. The impeller also draws atmospheric air into the chamber through an air inlet formed in the casing, and any backflow of the fluid from the fluid outlet into the air inlet is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6099277
Abstract: A gas blower and method according to which the gas is introduced into the inlet of a housing where it is pressurized by rotating impellers. The pressurized gas is directed to a discharge plenum from which a first portion of the gas is discharged. The remaining portion of the gas is passed from the discharge plenum through a plurality of openings to a recirculating chamber for recirculating the gas back to the housing. The gas is passed from the recirculating chamber back to the housing through two radially-spaced sets of angularly-spaced openings formed in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4964489
Abstract: A jet spray slinger is provided for lubricating moving parts within a housing. A trough is fixed to or frictionally driven by a rotating shaft. The trough has holes that allow lubricant to be sprayed radially outward as the shaft rotates the trough. Axial holes in the trough or a deflector accomplish axial distribution of the lubricant.

  • Patent number: 4958656
Abstract: A pressure relief valve has a hollow valve body with one or more vent ports in the side wall and a small pilot opening in a first end. A lightweight sleeve, closed at one end, telescopes over the first end of the valve body to close the vent ports. A pressure actuatable element is positioned on the outer surface of the valve body end so as to block the pilot opening therein until the pressure in the valve body exceeds a predetermined value. When the pressure actuatable element unblocks the pilot opening, the interior of the closed end of the sleeve is exposed to the pressure in the valve body, causing the lightweight sleeve to move relative to the valve body to open the vent ports. Suitable pressure actuated elements include a rolling ball or a spring biased closure plate.
