Abstract: A wireless device and a method therein for receiving positioning system information from a radio network node. The wireless device and the radio network node operate in a wireless communications network. The wireless device receives positioning system information broadcast scheduling information comprising information about positioning System Information Blocks that are comprised in a System Information message. Further, the wireless device receives an indication that a pSIB is segmented into pSIB segments. Based on the indication and on the pSI the wireless device determines whether or not the pSIB segments are scheduled via contiguous scheduling. When the pSIB segments are determined to be scheduled via contiguous scheduling, the wireless device monitors scheduled resources, retrieves the contiguously scheduled pSIB segments and decodes position system information of the retrieved pSIB segments.

  • Publication number: 20230388958
Abstract: A network node (16) is configured for use in a wireless communication network (10). The network node (16) receives one or more positioning capabilities (18) of a wireless device (12), and stores the one or more positioning capabilities (18) in storage (24) that is at or accessible to the network node (16). After storing the one or more positioning capabilities (18) of the wireless device (12), the network node (16) receives a positioning request (28) for the wireless device (12). Responsive to receiving the positioning request (28), the network node (16) retrieves the one or more positioning capabilities (18) of the wireless device (12) from the storage (24), and sends, to a positioning server (20) in the wireless communication network (10), a message that comprises the positioning request (28) and that includes the one or more positioning capabilities (18) retrieved from the storage (24).

  • Publication number: 20230362870
Abstract: A method, network node and wireless device (WD) are disclosed for enhanced A-GNSS RTK positioning in 5G network by transferring neighbor cell information. According to one aspect, a method in a location server include receiving a request from the WD for positioning assistance data, the request identifying each of a plurality of cells and transmitting positioning assistance data to the WD. The method also includes determining whether positioning assistance data for a first cell of the identified cells is stored in the memory. When the positioning assistance data for the first cell is stored in the memory, then the positioning assistance data for the first cell is transmitted to the WD. When the positioning assistance data for the first cell is not stored in the memory, then whether positioning assistance data for a tracking area code associated with the WD location is stored in memory is determined.

  • Publication number: 20220369069
Abstract: A network node of a wireless communication network configures a wireless device to perform a positioning procedure responsive to occurrences of a defined event, and the wireless device subsequently modifies one or both the positioning measurement instructions and positioning assistance data used for performing one or more future occurrences of the positioning procedure, responsive to receiving modification signaling. Consequently, the network node avoids the signaling burden associated with configuring a new triggered or periodic procedure, while having the ability to modify the ongoing procedure to account for, for example, movements of the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20220053285
Abstract: A method for assisting in position determination in a wireless communication system comprises obtaining (S1) of pairs of radio frequency environment data sets for each of a plurality of common positions. A pair of radio frequency environment data sets comprises radio frequency environment data of devices of a first access technology and a second access technology at a common position. A transformation operator is created (S2) based on the pairs. The transformation operator represents a relation between radio frequency environment data sets of the first and second access technology. A method for position determination in a wireless communication system based on transformation operator and network nodes therefore is also disclosed, as well as network nodes for performing the methods.
