  • Patent number: 4272642
Abstract: An electrical bushing which contains a pressurized gas as the main insulation and which contains a metallic shield electrode therein near the grounded end of the tubular outer insulator for control of the voltage distribution, also includes a solid insulating body which is made of a material having a higher permittivity than the insulating gas, thus enabling the bushing to have a smaller diameter. The metallic shield electrode is at least partially embedded in the insulating body. The insulating body includes an upper field-controlling portion in the space between the tubular outer insulator and the central current conductor which includes an inner side that extends towards the conductor to form a tapered annular space, most of the upper portion being located beyond the metallic shield electrode with respect to the grounded end of the tubular insulator.

  • Patent number: 4237333
Abstract: A high voltage cable, which is insulated with a solid insulated material, preferably cross-linked polyethylene, is connected to a pressure-gas-insulated conductor by means of a cable termination apparatus comprising a metal enclosure filled with pressure gas. The cable end is provided with a contact socket and secured in the metal enclosure by means of a pull rod fixed to the contact socket and oriented substantially in the axial extension of the cable end. A sealing device encloses a portion of the contact socket and the adjacent portion of the high voltage cable insulation.

  • Patent number: 3973077
Abstract: A bushing for leading an electrical connector through a wall or the like has an intermediate flange for attachment in the wall and two metallic end flanges on either side of the intermediate flange. Two hollow insulating bodies are clamped between the intermediate flange and the end flanges, and a bushing conductor runs the length of the bushing. The bushing conductor is movable in relation to the remainder of the bushing or at least in relation to one of the end flanges. A drawing member is connected between the end flanges and is composed of first and second elongated metallic bodies each of which is attached to the corresponding end flanges overlapping each other for a certain distance. A pressure transmitting member, which is formed of a material with a greater coefficient of thermal expansion than the first and second metallic bodies, forms a power transmitting connection between the free ends of the metallic bodies.
