Abstract: A roll for feeding substrate material, which includes a sheet roller, which has a circumference and a surface layer, configured to rotate about a first axis. A plurality of salient members are disposed on the surface layer to extend along the first axis at intervals about the circumference. Each of the plurality of salient members is configured to cause a fold line to form across a width of the substrate material, which is substantially perpendicular to a direction of travel of the substrate material.

Abstract: A roll comprises a roller, having the circumference changing in length, mounted on a roller shaft which is bent with a central portion and both outer portions in different plane directions free of load. The roller forms at least one axial flat line along an external periphery while being rotated about the roller shaft. The roll has actions of preventing the object from deviation and expander action. The roll permits stable and high-speed running of an object being carried without causing deformation based on the flat line. The roll can be arranged oppositely in pair to effect uniform pinch pressure in width direction on the object being carried.

Abstract: A roll comprising a curved shaft upon which is rotatably mounted an elastic roller which has its circumference increasing progressively from its center to its ends. This results in the roll having a part which is axially straight or slightly curved. The article to be passed contacts the part and passes in a stable manner without distortion or permanent set therein, and receives a force extending the same in its cross-wise direction. This force makes it possible to stretch out any wrinkles in the article to be passed, prevents the wrinkles from forming and, if necessary, to extend the same in its cross-wise direction.

Abstract: A roller comprising a roller surface layer whose diameter progressively diminishes from its central portion toward the opposite ends, and an arched roller shaft for rotatably supporting the roller surface layer, thereby ensuring that the sheeting is subjected to stretching or shrinking without the possibility of permanent set therein.

Abstract: A pinch apparatus in which a pair of rolls, comprising rollers whose peripheral length decreases from the center portion in the axial direction towards each end disposed on the curved roller shaft rotatably, are arranged opposedly utilizing a flat part throughout the axial direction at an external periphery of the roller. The pinch apparatus feeds out a material being passed through in quantity corresponding to peripheral lengths in each part of the roller. The apparatus also includes an adjusting device which adjusts the shaft angle and roll ascending and descending portions.
