  • Patent number: 8907601
Abstract: A braking apparatus for a vehicle includes a permanent magnet synchronous motor including a rotor having a permanent magnet, and a stator capable of driving the rotor to rotate and configured to couple the rotor to each of at least a pair of wheels of the vehicle; a power accumulating portion that accumulates power to be supplied to the permanent magnet synchronous motor; a conversion control portion that converts the power of the power accumulating portion to excite the stator and control the rotation of the rotor; and an in-phase excitation control portion that applies exciting brake to the wheel by exciting the stator by supplying power in the same phase as the excitation with respect to the stator in the direction of rotation of the rotor according to the control performed by the conversion control portion, wherein the wheel is stopped by the exciting brake.

  • Publication number: 20020047430
Abstract: The present invention provides an SR motor in which magnetic pole utilization is improved by increasing an overlapping area between projecting poles. A stator 10 is provided at its outer peripheral surface with slots SR1 through SR12. Between two adjacent slots, each of poles S1 through S12 are defined. Each of coils Aa, Ab, ba, Bb, Ca, and Cb is wound along any two slots between which two other slots are placed such that the coils Aa, Ba, and Ca are in parallel to the coils Ab, Bb, and Cb, respectively. Along an inner peripheral surface of a rotor 20, a plurality of circumferentially spaced magnetically insulated pieces J1 through J8 formed of magnetic material are mounted. When each of the pieces J1 through J8 is in opposition to the two adjacent poles of the stator 10, each of the coils generates a closed-loop magnetic flux that passes through the magnetic material piece and the poles corresponding thereto, thereby producing a torque.

  • Patent number: 6157160
Abstract: A switched reluctance motor is provided with multi-phase coils on the stator poles. An energization on angle, a first energization off angle, a second energization off angle and a target value corresponding to an angle of rotation are determined with respect to each coil on the basis of a target torque and a rotation speed. A pair of transistors which act as switching elements are both turned on when the angle of rotation is reached at the energization on angle. One transistor is turned off if a value of an actual current is target value of the current while the angle of rotation is not reached at the first energization off angle. The same transistor is turned off irrespective of the magnitude of the value of the actual current and the target value of the current when the angle of rotation is reached at the first energization off angle. The transistors are both turned off when the angle of rotation is reached at the second energization off angle.

  • Patent number: 5107163
Abstract: An ultrasonic motor is provided which generates oscillations in only two directions so as to more efficiently provide for the transmission of driving torque from the driving member to the driven rotor member. The motor includes a stator having a driving portion on a side surface of the stator and a vibrating member for generating radial and circumferential oscillations on the stator member. A rotor is urged against the driving portion of the stator and a further member is provided which continually urges the rotor against the stator so as to provide for the transmission of drive between the rotor and stator.
