  • Patent number: 6928072
Abstract: A communications device (11) is connected with a subscriber switching station (13) through a subscriber line (12). The subscriber switching station (13) has a subscriber switching system (14), a switch (15), and an LAN (16). The subscriber line (12) is selectively connected with the subscriber switching station (14) and the LAN (16) through the corresponding switch (15). A conventional dial operation is performed for conventional communications. On the other hand, “0AB0” is dialed to participate communications over the LAN (16) when accessing a resource for example the WWW server (17) on the LAN (16). Then, a transfer request is sent to the WWW server (17) using a conventional procedure, and the device receives a required HTML document and the associated files.

  • Patent number: 6801522
Abstract: When a call out is done by the destination communications device (11), the calling access server (15) generates the call-out packet, which packet is then sent to the called access server (15) through the Internet (16). The called access server (15) sends a ringing signal to the destination communications device (11). When the destination communications device (11) responds to the ringing signal, then the called access server (15) generates an acknowledge packet and returns the packet to the calling access server (15) through the Internet (16). The calling access server (15) then begins charging, and returns the acknowledge signal to the calling communications device for starting talk over the telephone. After that, talk packets are exchanged through the Internet (16). Finally, the termination is generated when the telephone call termination is detected with either of the calling and called access servers (15), and the termination of the telephone call is performed.

  • Publication number: 20030236895
Abstract: A user views contents by a terminal unit at a different place and bit rate in divided times and upon resumption of viewing, and resumed from an end position automatically. A content distribution control server includes a table to record the end position of the content and user ID, content ID and an end position upon interruption of the service. Upon resumption of the service, the end position is retrieved from the table and the content distribution is resumed from the end position. Further, upon resumption of the service, the control server reads in user information (the user position, the terminal unit used, the reproduction software, the bit rate and the like), so that the content distribution service is performed in the condition optimum to user's current utilization environment irrespective of user information used before interruption.

  • Publication number: 20030005459
Abstract: A plurality of information streams are transferred in a broadcast manner from a host device 205 connected to a LAN 204 in a switching station 200. A host device 101 at a subscriber site 100 is placed within the same network as the LAN 204, and then receives the streams transferred over a subscriber line 300. Each of the streams is assigned with a socket using a destination port number. The host device 101 receives in real time, stores, or discard the streams based on the definition of the sockets at the host device.

  • Publication number: 20020194614
Abstract: The head end 201 at CATV center 200 and the transmission path 300 form a LAN. The host device 202 for transferring content information and the host device 101 at the subscriber site 100 are connected to the transmission path 300. A plurality of content information streams are transferred using a broadcast technique from the host device 202 onto the upstream path 301. The host device 101 at the subscriber site 100 receives the streams transferred through the downstream path 302. Each of the streams is assigned with a socket using a destination port number. The host device 101 receives in real time, stores, or discard the streams based on the definition of the sockets at the host device.

  • Patent number: 5670804
Abstract: A semiconductor device is diclosed which has a PN-junction gate field effect transistor constituting a PN-junction gate with a semiconductor layer of opposite conductivity, an undoped semiconductor layer, and an active layer by depositing sources and drains made of semiconductor layers on the active layer of uniconductivity, depositing an undoped semiconductor layer whose band gap is greater than that of the active layer on the active layer between the opposing end surfaces of the sources and drains, and depositing a semiconductor layer of opposite conductivity on the undoped semiconductor layer away from the sources and drains. In particular, the present invention is effective for an enhancement type PN-junction power FET using compound semiconductors such as GaAs and capable of running with a single power supply and for a semi-conductor device integrating the enhancement type PN-junction power FET and a high-frequency low noise amplifier mono-lithically.
