  • Patent number: 7162725
Abstract: The invention seeks to provide a disc centering device of simple arrangement in a disc player for laying large and small size discs. One of paired, i.e., left and right, leading members and a trigger member also serve as a pair of small size disc stoppers, and the other leading member is provided with the sole function of correcting the deviation of the small size discs. Thus, the problem of the difficulty of positioning by providing the paired leading members with stopper function, is solved with a simple arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20060200838
Abstract: The invention is a proposal of a pick-up drive apparatus for a disc player, which permits reducing the rotation resistance offered by a feed screw for driving a pick-up. A guide shaft and a feed screw are disposed side by side. an engagement part of a coupling member is held in radial and elastically forced contact with the feed screw. With rotation of the feed screw, the coupling member is thus advanced and retreated in the axial directions of the feed screw. A pick-up seat carrying a pick-up is caused to follow the coupling member for advancement and retreat along the guide shaft. The coupling member is mounted on the guide shaft for rocking movement and axial advancement and retreat. The coupling member has a pair of clamping pieces clamping the feed screw from the opposite sides in the direction of rocking movement. The engagement part is formed on one of the clamping members.

  • Publication number: 20060143630
Abstract: The present invention seeks to provide a disc transfer apparatus, which permits increasing the disc kick-off extent while holding a constant distance between a transfer roller and a turntable. A disc transfer apparatus is disclosed, which can choose either one of a play-back base fixing mode, in which a transfer roller is held at a disc transfer position while restricting motion of the play-back base relative to a housing, thereby permitting loading/unloading of disc, and a play-back base release mode, in which the transfer roller is held at a non-disc transfer position while holding the play-back base in a floating state relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 6330216
Abstract: Provision of a recording medium transfer apparatus, which uses a one-direction motor as a drive source and is simple in construction and inexpensive. The apparatus comprises a rotation member driven for rotation by the one-direction motor, an idler gear, and transfer means. The rotation member has a partial gear and a push member. The partial gear is held in mesh with the idler gear only during rotation of the rotation member for a predetermined angle. The transfer means has a gear portion in mesh with the idler gear and a contact portion. The transfer means is caused, with the contact portion thereof pushed by the push member, to undergo rocking movement in one direction and, after separation of the push member from the contact portion, the transfer means is rocked in the other direction with the partial gear in mesh with the idler gear. The recording medium is thus reciprocally transferred by the transfer means with reciprocal rocking movement thereof caused during one rotation of the rotation member.

  • Patent number: 6201782
Abstract: Provision of a disc loading apparatus for a disc player, which permits a disc being inserted to be safely pulled out without being held between a turntable and a clamper. A clamper supporting member having an engagement portion carries the clamper, and a stopper is disposed on the line of movement of the engagement portion. The stopper is normally at a preventing position of being in contact with the engagement portion to prevent the clamper from approaching the turntable. When a disc has been inserted up to a position that it can be held on the turntable, it pushes the stopper to an approach allowable position to allow the clamper to approach the turntable. When the clamper approaches the turntable, the stopper is pushed by the engagement portion of the clamper supporting member to a retreated position, at which the stopper is out of contact with the disc.

  • Patent number: 6192019
Abstract: This invention provides a disc player in which a disc can be taken out readily and without possibility for the disc to fall out when unloading the disc. A Transfer apparatus pushes back a disc located in a playing portion up to a position, at which the center hole of the disc at least partly projects from a disc insertion slot. An elastic holding mechanism elastically holds a portion of the disc, having been pushed back, on the outer side of a recording area from the opposite sides of the disc, thus preventing the falling-out of the disc.

  • Patent number: 6084838
Abstract: Provision of a disc transfer apparatus for a disc player, which is free from damage to disc, small in size and simple in construction. A push-back member and a main push member are rockably mounted on one side of the passage of disc, and a disc guide is provided on the other side of the passage of the disc. The push-back member and the main push member are coupled together by a cam mechanism, and the push-back member is reciprocally driven by a driving means. The disc is transferred to a playing portion by pushing its edge with the main push member, and is transferred from the playing portion toward a disc insertion slot by pushing its edge with the push-basc member.
