Abstract: A digital microfluidic (DMF) system based on an electrowetting-on-dielectric mechanism includes a substrate, and at least one dielectric layer comprising diamond-like carbon over the substrate. The DMF system also includes a plurality of electrodes connected to the dielectric layer. A voltage source is selectively couplable to different electrodes of the plurality of electrodes.

Abstract: A data storage device including a passive cooling system. The data storage device including an enclosure and a printed circuit board coupled to the enclosure. The data storage device also including a vapor chamber coupled to the printed circuit board and one or more heat pipes in fluid communication with the vapor chamber. The vapor chamber and one or more heat pipes including a two-phase liquid therein and defining a thickness of less than or equal to 0.7 mm. The two-phase liquid dissipating heat within the data storage device by evaporating and condensing. In some embodiments, the data storage device also including a disk separator positioned between adjacent recording disks and acting similar to the vapor chamber.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a cartridge for purifying a sample. The cartridge comprising a first chamber having a plurality of compartments for storing a sample and at least one reagent and mix the a sample with the at least one reagent. A second chamber in fluid communication with the first chamber is configured with a matrix member for matrixing at least one analyte. A third chamber in fluid communication with the second chamber is configured with a waste collection chamber for storing waste fluids matrixed in the second chamber. A fourth chamber in fluid communication with the third chamber, includes at least one tube configured to receive and store the at least one analyte from the second chamber, through the third chamber. The cartridge enables purification of multiple samples in a cycle.
