  • Publication number: 20110108173
Abstract: In a non-pneumatic tire (1), a plurality of connecting members (13) that connects a mounting body (11) and an annular body (12) are provided along a tire-circumferential direction. The annular body is split into a plurality of split bodies (12a) along the tire-circumferential direction. A resilient member (16) that is extended along the tire-circumferential direction and connects the plurality of split bodies in the tire-circumferential direction is provided in the annular body. This non-pneumatic tire (1) secures satisfactory ride quality, maneuverability and durability by suppressing increase in weight, hardness and rolling resistance, ensures uniform contact-pressure distribution, and prevents the occurrence of a puncture.

  • Publication number: 20100218869
Abstract: A plurality of connection members 13 connecting an installation disk 11 to a ring-shaped body 12 are formed, in a side view of the non-pneumatic tire, to be axisymmetrical about an imaginary line connecting the respective first ends 21a and 22a of first connection plates 21 and second connection plates 22 to an axial line O and extending in a tire-radial direction. The connection members 13 are arranged in a tire-circumferential direction such that the first connection plates 21 are arranged at a first tire-widthwise position in the tire-circumferential direction and that the second connection plates 22 are arranged at a second tire-widthwise position in the tire-circumferential direction. According to the invention, it is possible to suppress an increase in the weight, hardness, and rolling resistance to secure satisfactory ride qualities and handling qualities, and it is possible to prevent a blowout from occurring.

  • Publication number: 20090101265
Abstract: The present invention provides a pneumatic tire in which the rolling resistance can be reduced without reducing the wear resistance and the durability. The present invention is a pneumatic tire including a tread part contacting a road surface, at least two belt layers each formed of a plurality of parallel cords covered with rubber, and a pair of bead toes. Here, an angle at which the line segment BQ and the line segment SW cross is 50° or smaller when, in a cross section including the axis of rotation: the ends of a shortest belt layer, which is the shortest one, in length in a tire width direction, of the belt layers are set to be points B; points on a tire surface, between which the width of the tire is the widest, are set to be points Q; a line segment connecting each point B and the corresponding one of the points Q is set to be a line segment BQ; and a line segment connecting the pair of points Q is set to be a line segment SW.

  • Publication number: 20080073014
Abstract: There is provided a non-pneumatic tire which can eliminate a necessity of filling a pressurized air or other gases to obviate a possibility of decrease or loss of the internal pressure of the tire and which can easily provide desired vertical, longitudinal and lateral stiffnesses in a mutually independent state. The non-pneumatic tire has a rim member 1, a ring member 3 disposed at an outer circumferential side of the rim member 1 and provided with a tread 2 on a circumferential face, and a plurality of link mechanisms 4 coupling the rim member with the ring member.

  • Patent number: 5710718
Abstract: A method of designing a pneumatic tire, wherein a basic model of a tire representing a cross-sectional shape of the tire including an internal structure, an objective function representing a physical amount for evaluating tire performance, a design variable for determining the cross-sectional shape of the tire, and a constraint for constraining the cross-sectional shape of the tire are determined. A corrected model of the tire with the design variable changed by a unit amount .theta.r.sub.i is determined. The value of the objective function and the value of the constraint in the corrected model are calculated. A sensitivity is calculated for each design variable, and an estimated value of the amount of change of the design variable which maximizes the value of the objective function while taking the constraint is calculated by means of the sensitivities. The above process is repeated until the value of the objective function converges.

  • Patent number: 5559729
Abstract: In order to perform tire design and development highly efficiently and provide a tire at low cost, a tire basic model for representing a tire cross-sectional shape including an internal structure and being divided into a plurality of elements, an objective function for representing a physical quantity for evaluation of tire performance, design variables for determining a physical property of rubber members, and a constraint condition for constraining the physical property of the rubber members are determined (100, 102). A value of the objective function and a value of the constraint condition are calculated in accordance with Young's moduli of the rubber members when the design variable is altered by a unit quantity .DELTA.r.sub.i, and a sensitivity is calculated for each of the design variables (106-112). Predicted values of variation quantities of the design variables for maximizing the value of the objective function while satisfying the constraint condition are calculated by using the sensitivity (114).

  • Patent number: 5171375
Abstract: The titanium alloy treatment process of the present invention comprises molding an .alpha.+.beta. titanium alloy and a .beta. alloy, subjecting the resultant article to a .beta. solution treatment above the .beta. transformation point, quenching the treated article to room temperature to form a martensitic single phase or a .beta. single phase, subjecting the article to an aging treatment below the .beta. transformation point to finely precipitation an .alpha. precipitate on the martensite phase or the .beta. phase, and then subjecting the article to a mirror fining treatment to attain a mirror state.

  • Patent number: 4076001
Abstract: The cylinder head of an internal combustion engine has a bore provided with an annular shoulder. A liner "U" shaped in cross section has an outward extending radial end flange which overlies the shoulder. A valve guide is insertable into the bore and has a second shoulder overlying the end flange. The end flange is clamped between seal rings by means of a nut acting through a Belleville spring encircling the valve guide. The liner defines an auxiliary combustion chamber therein and the liner has an opening in a wall thereof which forms a flame passage leading to a main combustion chamber.
