  • Publication number: 20040066342
Abstract: A vehicular antenna is mounted on a circuit board in a monitor. The circuit board has a conductor substrate that is used as a ground for the antenna, and it has a frame shape that has a rectangular inner edge. The circuit board has an electrical contact for connecting the antenna. The electrical contact is placed at &lgr;/4 away from an axisymmetrical line (center line) with respect to the inner edge. As a result, a gain of the vehicular antenna is not reduced in a front direction even when the vehicular antenna uses the frame shape conductor as the ground.

  • Patent number: 6658213
Abstract: The invention relates to a modulation controlling circuit for supplying a modulating signal to an external modulator that outputs a modulated optical signal, while setting a proper operating point in the external modulator. The external modulator that operates in cooperation with the modulation controlling circuit of the invention enables high-quality modulation at a wide bit rate range. Therefore, in an optical transmission system or a measuring instrument to which the invention is applied, the characteristics and the performance are improved and the operation is made stable without loss of advantages of the external modulator.

  • Patent number: 6626001
Abstract: A clutch of the compressor is selectively engaged and disengaged by a coaction of an engine ECU and an air-conditioning ECU. If an air-conditioning system operating switch is detected as being turned on after a startup of an engine is detected, the clutch is changed from an off-state to an on-state to actuate the compressor to discharge a liquid refrigerant therefrom on the condition that an engine coolant temperature is higher than a reference engine coolant temperature. When the engine coolant temperature is higher than the reference engine coolant temperature, e.g., 40° C., the liquid refrigerant stored in the compressor is discharged of its own accord, and hence the amount of the liquid refrigerant stored in the compressor becomes small.

  • Publication number: 20030020657
Abstract: An antenna unit includes a substrate having an antenna device and a radio absorbing device. The antenna device, substrate and radio absorbing device are constructed of a patch device, a conductive material and ferrite, respectively. The radio absorbing device is attached to the rear surface of the substrate. The radio absorbing device reduces incoming radio wave signals to travel to the rear surface of the substrate due to reflections by surrounding metal parts.

  • Publication number: 20020118113
Abstract: Cameras 31, 32 take images of an image space around a door. A distance calculation unit 33 calculates the distance to an object in the taken images. A coordinate transformation unit 34 detects the three-dimensional position of the object in the image space. The image space covered by the cameras 31, 32 is divided into a plurality of voxels. Some of these voxels are optionally set as constituents of the detection area. A judgement unit 36 judges whether the detected three-dimensional position of the object locates within or outside the detection area. If the object is present within the detection area, an output unit 37 produces an object detection signal, so that the door is allowed to open.

  • Patent number: 6014392
Abstract: The present invention relates to A drive circuit can stabilize a bias voltage of an optical modulator to realize long distance transmission by preventing degradation of waveform, even if there is a dispersion on a characteristic of an electro-absorption modulator according to temperature and a secular change. The drive circuit supplies a driving voltage to an electro-absorption modulator which adsorbs a carrier light, depending on the driving voltage and outputting an intensity-modulated signal, and a peak value detector for detecting a peak value of a voltage at an anode of the electro-absorption modulator, and a bias current supplying circuit for supplying a bias current to control the driving voltage according to a difference between the peak value detected by the peak value detector and a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5965653
Abstract: Polyethylene terephthalate resin composition comprising a polyethylene terephthalate resin and nigrosine, optionally containing fibrous reinforcing material, e.g. in an amount of about 10 to 120% by weight relative to the polyethylene terephthalate resin. The polyethylene terephthalate resin composition enables the production of molded products good in appearance, surface gloss, mechanical characteristics and light fastness. The composition has a crystallization rate upon molding which is lower than that of a corresponding natural polyethylene terephthalate resin containing no coloring agents and which is also lower than that of a corresponding polyethylene terephthalate resin composition comprising a polyethylene terephthalate resin and carbon black. The composition is capable of forming a molded product that can elongate more than 200% and also more than two times relative to a corresponding natural polyethylene terephthalate resin containing no coloring agents.

  • Patent number: 5017935
Abstract: A multiband antenna system for use in a motor vehicle comprising an antenna unit responsible for first and second frequency bands. The antenna unit is electrically coupled to a first conduit tube which is in turn coupled coaxially to a second conduit tube with a capacitor being interposed therebetween. The capacitor is arranged so as to act as a short with respect to the first frequency signal and act as an open for the second frequency signal. The first conduit tube is connected to a first feeding terminal for deriving the second frequency signal and the second conduit tube is coupled to a second feeding terminal to derive the first frequency signal. This antenna system is constructed by using only one antenna unit having a predetermined length, thereby allowing simplification of the arrangement of the antenna system for easy manufacturing.
