  • Patent number: 7918962
Abstract: A rotation detector includes a semiconductor chip, a nonmagnetic case body, a biasing permanent magnet and a nonmagnetic cap fixed to the case body, wherein the case body has a joint surface, and the cap has an inside surface in contact with the joint surface. A method of manufacturing the rotation detector includes the following steps: assembling the semiconductor chip, the case body and the biasing permanent magnet into a unit; forming at least one groove adjacent to the joint surface so as to form a space between the joint surface and the inside surface when the cap is fixed to the case body; fixing the cap to the case body so that the inside surface of the cap can be in contact with the joint surface; irradiating a laser beam at portions behind the inside surface of the cap under a prescribed pressure to melt materials of the case body and the cap and to make melted materials flow to the space; and cooling the melted materials to re-crystallize.

  • Patent number: 5651494
Abstract: A stack of two different metals to be welded, one of which is harder than the other, and an additional soft metal placed on the harder metal is placed between a pair of horn tips (grip members) of an ultrasonic welder. The harder metal is covered with a soft metal layer of a high plastic fluidity. Serrations are formed on the surface of the horn tips to grip the softer metal and the additional metal tightly during ultrasonic vibration is applied.

  • Patent number: 5451454
Abstract: A blend of high-molecular and a low-molecular organic material contains the high-molecular organic material in a proportion smaller than that of the low-molecular organic material, and has a three-dimensionally continuous network skeleton structure formed by the high-molecular organic material. The structure preferably has an average cell or mesh diameter not exceeding 500 microns. The removal of the low-molecular organic material from the blend gives a functional porous material consisting of the high-molecular organic material. The replacement of the low-molecular organic material in the blend with a solid or liquid, or a mixture thereof, gives a functional composite material containing the solid or liquid, or their mixture in the network skeleton structure.

  • Patent number: 5343014
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a method for laser welding different kinds of metals by which at least two types of metal members having mutually different laser reflection factor, are put one upon another and welded when the metal members are irradiated with lasers emitted in the superposed direction, comprising a process to put the first metal member on the second metal member, wherein the first metal member has a first laser reflection factor and the second metal member has a second laser reflection factor which is lower than that of the aforementioned first laser reflection factor, and the first and the second metal member are put one upon another through a metal layer and when irradiated with lasers, the aforementioned metal layer is more difficult to melt than the aforementioned second metal member. The method of the present invention further comprises a process in which lasers are irradiated from the aforementioned first metal member side.
