  • Patent number: 7516283
Abstract: Data is stored in a non-volatile memory such as a flash memory. The non-volatile memory has two memory areas. When power of a device is turned on, data in the two memory areas are compared to determine which memory area includes old data, and the old data is erased. When the power is turned off, a control setting of the device used immediately before the power is turned off is stored as new data in the memory area from which the old data is erased. When the power is applied again, the new data is read, and the control setting is restored in the device.

  • Patent number: 7266724
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for performing high-quality read and write operations through a simple operation without being affected by an interruption even when the interruption has occurred in the course of a read/write operation between information storage media. When an interruption occurs in the course of reading program information stored on an optical disc to write the program information onto a hard disk, the write status of the program information which has encountered the interruption and the information for identifying the program information are stored on the hard disk. After the recovery from the interruption, read and write operations are restarted. Then, the program information capable of ensuring the continuity with the program information which has been properly written on the hard disk prior to the interruption is determined in accordance with the write status of the program information which has encountered the interruption and the information for identifying the program information.

  • Publication number: 20070180472
Abstract: Information can be recorded in an easy-to-use form by appending title information thereto. When audio data is reproduced from an optical disc, such as a CD, and recorded into a hard disk, title information corresponding to the audio data is searched through a database region in the hard disk, and the retrieved title information is appended to the audio data and recorded into the storage region. When the corresponding title information is not retrieved, flag information indicating “no title information” is appended to the audio data so as to be recorded. When updated title information is provided by way of an optical disc or the like, by additionally recording the updated title information into the database region, the title information for the audio data indicated as “no title information” is automatically searched, and when the corresponding title information is found, the title information thus found is appended to the audio data and recorded into the storage region.

  • Patent number: 7187627
Abstract: An information reproducing/recording system has a reproducing apparatus which reproduces program information from a first recording medium, a recording/reproducing apparatus which records program information on a second recording medium or reproduces program information from the second recording medium, and a control apparatus which controls the reproducing apparatus and the recording/reproducing apparatus. The control apparatus acquires first management information for program information recorded on the first recording medium, and acquires second management information for program information recorded on the second recording medium. And then, the control apparatus compares the first management information and the second management information, and judges based on the result of comparison whether program information corresponding to the first management information has been recorded on the second recording medium.

  • Patent number: 6995936
Abstract: An information recording apparatus for recording content information on an information recording medium includes a main information recording area on which main information to be reproduced is recorded, and a plurality of content information recording areas on which content information to be reproduced to indicate contents of the main information is recorded. The apparatus includes a recording device, a confirming device and a control device. The recording device records the content information on a part of the plurality of content information recording areas. The confirming device confirms a recording result of the content information thus recorded. The control device controls the recording device, only when the recording result is confirmed to be successful, so that content information that is identical with the content information recorded on the part of the content information recording areas can be recorded on the other part of the content information recording areas.

  • Publication number: 20040252985
Abstract: A data transfer and reproduction system which transfers contents data such as music and the like from a master device such as a personal computer and the like to a slave device such as a car-mounted audio device and the like, without putting an operational burden on a user. Certification is registered between the slave device and the master device which transfers contents data, and contents data is transferred between the devices the certification of which has been registered. Of contents data stored in memory in the master device, contents data with a “yet-to-be transferred” identifier is transferred to the slave device at predetermined timing. When the functional disturbance of the slave device is detected during transfer, the transfer of contents data is aborted. The timing of the transfer may be in accordance with a predetermined time schedule, or a transfer command from the user.

  • Publication number: 20040252846
Abstract: A noise reduction apparatus is capable of suppressing deterioration of an aural sensing level due to noise existing in a sound field. The apparatus synthesizes a signal obtained by adding a predetermined delay to a sound field noise and reversing and amplifying the signal with an electric signal from a sound reproduction system to obtain a sound pressure output by using a first signal processing part. On the other hand, the apparatus synthesizes a signal obtained by delaying an electric signal from the sound reproduction system by a predetermined period and reversing and amplifying the signal with an electric signal obtained from a sound pressure in the proximity of a concha of a listener to extract a residual noise component by using a second signal processing part. The apparatus controls the delay amounts and the gains set by the first and second signal processing parts so as to minimize an extraction signal.
