  • Patent number: 8869696
Abstract: A method for adjusting color tones of a printed matter includes: a displaying step of displaying an image of a printed matter on a display apparatus (119) by plate data used when a pattern is printed on a printing plate used in printing performed by a printing press; an adjusting step in which an operator adjusts the color tones of the printed matter while referring to the printed matter displayed on the display apparatus (119); and a reference-image displaying step of displaying a reference image of displaying an image of a printed matter obtained when a supply amount of ink used in the printing is adjusted, for reference. In the adjusting step, the operator adjusts the color tones of the printed matter based on the supply amount of the ink in the printing press while referring to the image of the printed matter displayed in the reference-image displaying step.

  • Patent number: 8132509
Abstract: In a printed product color misregister amount detection method, a reference register mark including a first color area portion with a predetermined width and a blank portion in contact with the first color area portion is printed in a reference color on a printed product to be printed by a multi-color printing press. A positional shift detection register mark including a second color area portion with a width smaller than that of the first color area portion of the reference register mark is printed in a color other than the reference color to have as a target position a position where the width of the second color area portion falls within the width of the first color area portion of the reference register mark.

  • Patent number: 7249560
Abstract: In an ink supply amount adjustment method for a printing press, one of a density value and a color value of a printing product is measured. The difference between the measurement value and a preset reference value related to one of the density value and the color value is obtained. The relationship between the obtained difference and at least one of a preset first allowable difference and a preset second allowable difference larger than the first allowable difference is determined in accordance with a set allowance mode. The ink supply amount is adjusted in accordance with the determination result. An ink supply amount adjustment apparatus is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7232201
Abstract: In an ink supply amount adjustment method for a printing press, one of a density value and a color value of a printing product is measured. The difference between the measurement value and a preset reference value is obtained as a measurement difference. The first error ratio allowed with respect to the preset reference value is set as a first allowable ratio. The first allowable difference is obtained from the preset reference value and the set first allowable ratio. An ink supply amount is adjusted on the basis of the obtained measurement difference and the obtained first allowable difference. An ink supply amount adjustment apparatus is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20070022888
Abstract: In an ink supply amount adjustment method, a density value of a printed paper sheet is measured. The ink fountain key opening ratio is corrected on the basis of a difference between the measured density value of the printed paper sheet and a preset reference density value. The ink feed operation of the ink ductor roller is performed without printing after correction of the ink fountain key opening ratio to increase or decrease the amount of ink on the ink rollers.

  • Patent number: 7031022
Abstract: In a color management method for a printing press, a color chart formed from a plurality of patches is printed by multi-color printing using the printing press and a plurality of ink colors. Each of the patches has a predetermined combination of dot area percent of the ink colors. The printed color chart is automatically scanned using a calorimeter to sequentially obtain color data of all the patches. A first profile representing a color reproduction characteristic of the printing press is generated on the basis of the obtained color data of the patches and the dot area percent of the ink colors set in the patches. A color management apparatus is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6615727
Abstract: In a color management method for a printing press, the first profile representing color reproduction characteristics of a first printing press is generated using color data of a number of patches printed by the first printing press and the dot area percent of each of a plurality of ink colors defined for each patch. The second profile representing color reproduction characteristics of a second printing press is generated using color data of a number of patches printed by the second printing press and the dot area percent of each of a plurality of ink colors defined for each patch. The dot area percent of each ink color to be used to print a printing product by the second printing press is obtained on the basis of the first and second profiles. • Patent number: 6604466
Abstract: In a color management method for a printing press, colorimetic values of a first patch for generating a profile printed by the printing press are measured, so that a printing press profile representing a color reproduction characteristic of the printing press is generated from the measured colorimetic values of the first patch and a dot area percent of each ink color predetermined in correspondence with the first patch. Colorimetic values of a second patch for determining stability of the printing press printed by the printing press are measured. The measured colorimetic values of the second patch is compared with colorimetic values, in the printing press profile, having a dot area percent substantially equal to a dot area percent of each ink color predetermined in correspondence with the second patch. A warning is generated on the basis of a comparison result. A color management apparatus for a printing press is also disclosed.
