  • Patent number: 8248757
Abstract: This invention provides a nonaqueous lithium-type storage element using an activated carbon having a specific porous structure in a positive electrode. A storage element using a conventional carbonaceous material in a positive electrode has a problem that, although the capacitance is large, the output characteristics are disadvantageously unsatisfactory. The nonaqueous lithium-type storage element using a material, which can occlude and release lithium ions in a negative electrode, can improve output characteristics while maintaining the energy density of the storage element at a substantially equal value by using, in a positive electrode, an activated carbon, satisfying 0.3<V1?0.8 and 0.5?V2?1.0 wherein V1 represents the amount of mesopores derived from pores having a diameter of not less than 20 ? and not more than 500 ?, cc/g; and V2 represents the amount of micropores derived from pores having a diameter of less than 20 ?, cc/g.

  • Publication number: 20100276631
Abstract: A positive electrode material of an electricity storage device maintaining a high capacity at a high output density is provided. In a positive electrode material of a nonaqueous lithium-based electricity storage device comprising a lithium ion storing and desorbing material as a negative electrode active substance, an activated carbon is used for a positive electrode active substance of the positive electrode material and satisfies the following expressions: 0.3<V1?0.8 and 0.5?V2?1.0, where V1 (cc/g) represents a mesopore volume for a pore having a diameter of 20 ? to 500 ? and V2 (cc/g) represents a micropore volume for a pore having a diameter of less than 20 ?.

  • Publication number: 20070247787
Abstract: An electric double layer capacitor excellent in cycle characteristic with which a high electrostatic capacity is obtained by impression of a low voltage is provided. Carbonization treatment is carried out in which 1 kg of meso carbon micro beads whose particle diameter is 25 ?m is heated in a nitrogen atmosphere at 800° C. for 2 hours, and is cooled to room temperature. The carbide of meso carbon micro beads and sodium hydroxide powder are mixed in a ratio by weight of 1:2.5. Alkali activation treatment is carried out in which the mixture is heated in a helium atmosphere at 600° C. for 1 hour, and the carbide is exposed to sodium vapor. After cooling to room temperature, 8 g of this carbon powder, 1 g of ketchen black 1 g and 1 g of polytetrafluoroethylene are kneaded and rolled into a sheet 0.5 mm thick. The sheet-like carbon material is stamped out 16 mm in diameter to be active carbon layers 3 which form polarizable electrodes 4 in combination with collecting layers 2.

  • Patent number: 4950814
Abstract: Disclosed is a novel fluorocarbon comprising carbon atoms and fluorine atoms and having no double bond, the atomic ratio of fluorine to carbon atoms being 1.50 to 1.93, which exhibits a liquid state at room temperature. The liquid fluorocarbon has excellent water- and oil-repellent properties and can advantageously be used, for example, not only as a water- and oil-repellent but also as an inert liquid, a heat transfer agent and a vapor phase soldering liquid in various fields, especially in the electronic industry. The liquid fluorocarbon can be obtained directly from a pitch or from a pitch fluoride which can be obtained by direct fluorination of a pitch.
