  • Patent number: 7586641
Abstract: A data processing method, which is provided in an image processing system in which a server and a data processor communicate with each other to perform a predetermined data process, includes a step of extracting a feature amount of electronic data to be output from a printer, a step of transmitting original specifying information including the extracted feature amount and a user ID for discriminating a print requester of the electronic data, to the server, a step of controlling generation of print data to be output to the printer, based on original certification information notified by the server, and a step of causing the printer to print the generated print data and information indicating that the print data corresponds to an original. By this method, a large storage capacity is not required to certify one data, and to keep a secret of the stored electronic data is easy.

  • Patent number: 7548344
Abstract: Two main-scanning-color-group recognition units, each for measuring a degree of continuity of chromatic pixels in a main scanning direction are provided. A degree of continuity in a sub-scanning direction is measured by the degree of continuity of chromatic pixels in the main scanning direction determined by a different threshold.

  • Patent number: 7546244
Abstract: Since an image processing system that can authenticate the originality of digital data adopts an arrangement that does not save and manage digital data in a server, the server scale can be prevented from increasing, and the security can be improved. To this end, in this invention, in an image processing system in which a client and server are connected to be able to communicate with each other, the feature amount and user ID of digital data to be registered are registered in the server, and the digital data is saved in the client in correspondence with the registration number and registration date upon registering the feature amount and user ID.

  • Patent number: 7509060
Abstract: A density signal value determination method, an image forming apparatus, and an image processing system are configured to automatically and optimally determine the density of a copy-forgery-inhibited pattern image that includes a latent image and a background image. In a density signal value determination method, a test sheet, on which a plurality of latent image patches and a plurality of background image patches are formed, is outputted. Subsequently, the luminance, the density, and the reflection density of each of the patches are obtained from image data obtained by reading this test sheet. Then, an optimal combination of a latent image patch and a background image patch is selected according to the obtained values. Finally, density signal values used to generate the selected patches are set to generate a latent image and a background image.

  • Publication number: 20060217826
Abstract: An image processing apparatus by which in performing a setting as to a registration of application data to a database, a type of an object to be registered to the database can be selected. For example, if a photograph mode is selected, among vectorized data, a photographic object is registered to the database, and objects of the other attribute are defined as NULL and are registered to the database with respect to positional information thereof. Further, a registration period can be set for each attribute.
