  • Publication number: 20110147436
Abstract: Welding equipment for performing butt welding on a plurality of blank components B butted against each other includes positioning stations 4 and 6 for positioning the individual blank components, a welding station 2 having a welding head for welding the blank components together, and first and second tables 10 and 12 movable between the welding station 2 and the respective positioning stations 4 and 6. When the first table 10 is moved to the positioning station 4, the second table 12 is moved to the welding station 2, and when the first table 10 is moved to the welding station 2, the second table 12 is moved to the positioning station 6, so that the multiple blank components may be welded together by the welding head to obtain a finished article.

  • Patent number: 6683900
Abstract: A cavity has a longitudinal hollow having opposite open ends. An excitation source, such as a YAG rod, is accommodated in the hollow of the cavity. A hollow, cylindrical rod holder is inserted into each of the opposite open ends of the hollow and is fitted over a corresponding end of the YAG rod. A seal is fitted into a hollow of the rod holder adjacent to a portion of the rod holder fitted over the end of the YAG rod. The seal includes an annular seal body with a U-shaped section, e.g. made from Teflon®, and fitted over an outer periphery of the YAG rod to grip the YAG rod, as well as a spring fitted in a groove of the seal body provided by the U-shaped section so as to circumferentially surround a gripped portion of the YAG rod.

  • Patent number: 5373527
Abstract: A laser generating apparatus provided with the following is disclosed. That is to say, a rod shaped laser medium for receiving excitation light irradiation and emitting laser light having a prespecified wavelength, a reflecting tube having a central axis and possessing a rotating surface and two end surfaces, wherein an inner surface is made a reflecting surface, and the rod shaped laser medium is stored therewithin, and a virtual light source formation mechanism for forming an excitation virtual light source which can be construed as a point light source or a line light source, in the vicinity of the central axis. By means of this, a virtual light source having an energy distribution concentrated in the central part is formed, and it is possible to increase excitation efficiency.

  • Patent number: 5289490
Abstract: The present invention relates to a solid state laser generation apparatus which is composed of modularized solid state lasing units which enable construction of a compact cascading laser apparatus having a low lasing threshold value and a high laser generation efficiency. A lasing rod and the electrodes for the excitation of the rod are housed in a common module casing which has depressed sections on its external surface. When assembling two modular units, one of the module units is rotated axially with respect to the other in such a way to insert the electrodes into the depressed section on the external surface of the neighboring module so as to minimize the mechanical interference caused by the neighboring components. By utilizing such a modular arrangement, the lasing rod spacing between the neighboring module units can be shortened, thus resulting in lower coupling losses between the adjacent rods even during the initial phase of the operation.
