  • Patent number: 7515194
Abstract: An image pickup optical system includes, in order from the object side, a front unit having at least one reflecting surface with power that is rotationally asymmetrical, an aperture stop, and a rear unit having at least one reflecting surface with power that is rotationally asymmetrical. In this case, F-numbers in two directions perpendicular to each other on a plane perpendicular to the optical axis are different. Decentration takes place in one of the two directions and the F-number in a direction perpendicular to a decentering direction is smaller than that in the decentering direction. When the F-number in the decentering direction is represented by FNY and the F-number in the direction perpendicular to the decentering direction is represented by FNX, the optical system satisfies the following condition: 1.1<FNY/FNX<2.0.

  • Publication number: 20080173617
Abstract: A voltage measurement circuit is connected between an electrode and a workpiece by a parallel cable through a resistor to measure a machining gap voltage. The parallel cable, like a television antenna feeder line, is formed such that two conductive wires are parallel fixed by an insulating and flexible material such as rubber or resin with a predetermined distance. The interline distance of the parallel cable is increased to decrease a stray capacitance of the cable, so that a high-frequency voltage in finish machining can be measured by the voltage measurement circuit without being attenuated. The resistor is connected to suppress oscillation of a voltage input to the voltage measurement circuit.

  • Publication number: 20070187367
Abstract: A machine tool having movable axes driven by linear motors has a brake unit disposed in parallel with each linear motor. When the linear motors are not excited, the brake units are turned on to lock the movable axes. When the linear motors are excited, if a machining signal is off, indicating that machining is not in progress, and no manual command is issued, the brake units are likewise turned on to lock the movable axes. The brake units have a certain amount of play so that even when locked, a movable axis can move by a certain amount to enable the linear motor, if excited, to halt in a stable position, avoiding overcurrent flow.

  • Patent number: 7145096
Abstract: An electric discharge machine has a main power supply and a sub-power supply connected in parallel across a gap formed by an electrode and a workpiece. A voltage is first applied to the gap from the sub-power supply, and then machining energy is supplied to the gap from the main power supply when detected that the gap voltage has fallen to or below a certain detection level. Stable machining is achieved by changing the detection level according to the machining state.

  • Patent number: 7054712
Abstract: Supply of a wire electrode, application of a detection voltage, and binarization and sampling of the detection voltage are started, so as to start advance of the wire electrode from the position A toward a workpiece. The position of the wire electrode when a sampling value (low level) is detected for the first time is designated as a position B, and the wire electrode is advanced from this position by a predetermined distance P1, and is stopped at a position C. Retreat of the wire electrode is started from the position C, and a position Q where the sampling value has changed from the high level to the low level is stored as a contact/noncontact boundary position. Further, retreat of the wire electrode is continued, and the wire electrode is stopped at a predetermined separating position D, to thereby finish the processing.

  • Publication number: 20060103394
Abstract: A resistivity detector comprises a main detector and an auxiliary detector for measuring the resistance value of a solution. Contamination of the detection elements of the main and auxiliary detectors is detected by the output signals Ew1, Ew2 of the main and auxiliary detectors. The settings are such that the contamination advance speed is made different between the detection elements of the main detector and those of the auxiliary detectors or that different resistance values can be obtained from the outputs of the main and auxiliary detectors when they measure the resistance values of the same solution in a state where the detection elements are not contaminated. If the detection elements are contaminated, the ratio of resistance values found from the main and auxiliary detectors changes, with the result that the detection elements are determined to be contaminated.

  • Patent number: 6894882
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to D.C. power supplies and more particularly to overvoltage protection in one or more D.C. power supply circuits, where a plurality of D.C. power supplies may be connected together to supply power to an electronic system. In one embodiment a D.C. power supply circuit is provided which, when used with the plurality of D.C. power supply circuits connected in parallel, is capable of stopping only the power supply circuit having run into an overvoltage state with minimal effect on the other D.C. power supply circuits. Thus power to the load is continued.

  • Patent number: 6844517
Abstract: A power supplying device for an electric discharge machine prevents electric discharge by a voltage from a subsidiary power supply circuit during a delay time from generation of the electric discharge to a rise of a voltage from a main power supply circuit. A parallel circuit, of a current reducing resistor and a capacitor, is provided in series in the subsidiary power supply circuit. A controller turns on the subsidiary power supply circuit to apply a voltage between a first electrode and a workpiece, as a second electrode, to generate an electric discharge therebetween, electricity charging the capacitor flowing between the electrodes to maintain the electric discharge even if an electric discharge current oscillates. The controller further turns on a main power supply circuit to supply a machining current in response to detection of the electric discharge and the current reducing resistor suppresses any leakage current during the application of the voltage from the subsidiary power supply circuit.

Abstract: A power supplying device for an electric discharge machine capable of preventing intermission of an electric discharge by a voltage from a subsidiary power supply circuit during delay time from generation of the electric discharge to a rise of a voltage from a main power supply circuit without increasing a leakage current in applying the voltage from the subsidiary power supply circuit. A parallel circuit composed of a current reducing resistor and a capacitor is provided in series in the subsidiary power supply circuit. A controller turns on a switching element of the subsidiary power supply circuit to apply a voltage to urge generation of an electric discharge between an electrode and a workpiece as the other electrode.
