    Abstract: A toothed belt having a woven fabric adhesive-bonded to the surface thereof which is adapted to be brought into contact with pulley, wherein, out of the yarns forming the woven fabric, the yarns to be located in the longitudinal direction of the belt comprise crimped yarns obtained by subjecting to crimping nylon multi-filament yarns having a relative viscosity of about 2.5 to sulphuric acid, a filament fineness of 2.5 d or under, and a filament strength of 7.5 g/d or over. This toothed belt is excellent in wear resistance on the surface thereof which is adapted to be brought into contact with pulleys and does not suffer from cracking.

    Abstract: A highly active catalyst for olefin polymerization, which is resistant to catalyst poisons contained in olefins as polymerization raw material and according to which the percentage of amorphous polymer formed is small, is provided, which catalyst is obtained byreacting a reaction product (I) of an organoaluminum compound with an electron donor, with TiCl.sub.4,further reacting the resulting solid product (II) with an electron donor and an electron acceptor,mixing the resulting solid product (III) with an organoaluminum compound in an inert solvent,keeping the resulting catalyst dispersion at 0.degree. to 70.degree. C., andhaving a small amount of an .alpha.-olefin and an extremely small amount of carbonyl sulfide slowly absorbed in the dispersion kept as above, to thereby subject the dispersion to a preliminary polymerization.

    Abstract: A process for producing .alpha.-olefin polymers is proposed wherein the catalyst prepared and used therein is superior in the shelf stability and heat stability. The process comprises reacting TiCl.sub.4 with a reaction product (I) of an organoaluminum compound with an electron donor to obtain a solid product (II), which is then subjected to polymerization treatment with an .alpha.-olefin, and further reacted with an electron donor and an electron acceptor to obtain a solid product (III), which is then combined with an organoaluminum compound, to obtain a catalyst, in the presence of which .alpha.-olefin(s) are polymerized. The catalyst can be further preactivated with an .alpha.-olefin in advance of its use for the polymerization.

    Abstract: A solid catalyst component for .alpha.-olefin polymerization which, when produced, causes any troubles due to its small particle size and when used, yields a spherical polymer of a suitably less particle size and a high bulk density with a slightest quantity of atactic polymer and affording a very good dispersibility of powdery additives therein in spite of its narrow particle size distribution, and a process for producing the same, are provided, which solid catalyst component comprises Ti and Cl as active ingredients, having an average particle diameter of 2 to 10.mu., a specific surface area of 100 m.sup.2 /g or more and a diffraction line corresponding to a distance between lattices of 4.80 to 5.10 .ANG. by way of X-ray diffraction; and which process is characterized in that when TiCl.sub.4 is reduced with a reducing agent comprising an organoaluminum compound to produce a solid intermediate, there is employed an agitation intensity defined by definite values of agitation power and baffle ratio.

    Abstract: A propylene-ethylene block copolymer from which molded products having high rigidity and superior high-impact properties can be prepared even without adding any particular additive, is provided, which copolymer is obtained by (i) polymerizing propylene in 70 to 95 weight % based on the total polymerized amount, using a catalyst obtained by reacting an organoaluminum compound (I) or a reaction product of (I) with an electron donor (A), with TiCl.sub.4, further reacting the resulting solid product (II) with (A) and an electron acceptor (B), and combining the resulting solid product (III) with an organoaluminum compound (IV) and an aromatic carboxylic acid ester (V), the molar ratio of (V) to (III) being 0.1 to 10.0, and then (ii) polymerizing ethylene or ethylene and propylene in 30 to 5 weight % based on the total polymerized amount, at one or more stages, using the same catalyst as above, the ethylene content being 3 to 20 weight % based on the total polymerized amount.

    Abstract: A supported type catalyst component for .alpha.-olefin polymerization, having a higher activity and capable of affording a highly stereoregular polymer is provided, which component comprises a solid product (II) obtained by reacting Mg compound(s) of formula MgR.sup.1 R.sup.2 (wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl, aryl, alkoxy or aryloxy and R.sup.2, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, aryloxy or halogen), with a complex of compound(s) selected from Al halides and Al compounds of formula AlR.sub.n.sup.3 X.sub.3-n (wherein R.sub.3 is alkyl, aryl, alkoxy or aryloxy; X, halogen; 0.ltoreq.n<2) with an organic acid ester; and reacting the resulting solid product (I) (a carrier) with a liquid halogen-containing Ti compound. Preactivation of the solid product (II) with an organoaluminum compound and an .alpha.-olefin affords a catalyst component superior in storage stability and polymerization reproducibility.

C.) as measured under 5 times the load applied in the measurement of the former melt flow index, there being a relationship log HMI.gtoreq.0.922 log MI+1.44, and the final polymer consisting of 40 to 60 weight % of a PP portion corresponding to the higher M.W. portion and 60 to 40 weight % of a PP portion corresponding to the lower M.W. portion.

    Abstract: A process for producing .alpha.-olefin polymers characterized by employing an organomagnesium compound in the preparation of a preactivated catalyst therefor is provided. The resulting polymers have particularly a higher rigidity in addition to various superior properties. The process comprises reacting a trivalent metal halide with a divalent metal compound to obtain a solid product (I); reacting this product with an organomagnesium compound, an electron donor (ED) and an electron acceptor (EA), once to 10 times, and at that time, using TiCl.sub.4 at least once as the (EA) to obtain a solid product (II); combining this product with an organoaluminum compound (OAl) and an (ED), and at that time, subjecting a combination of (II) and (OAl) or that of (II), (OAl) and (ED) to polymerization treatment with an .alpha.-olefin, and in the case of the former combination, further adding (ED), to obtain a preactivated catalyst; and polymerizing .alpha.-olefin(s) in the presence of this catalyst.

    Abstract: A process for producing .alpha.-olefin polymers is provided, which comprises: reacting an organoaluminum compound with an electron donor in a specified ratio in a solvent at a specified temperature to obtain a solid product (I); reacting solid product (I) with TiCl.sub.4 at a specified temperature in a specified ratio of Al/Ti and then removing a liquid portion from the resulting material followed by washing to obtain a solid product (II) having no free TiCl.sub.4 ; reacting solid product (II) with an electron donor and an electron acceptor in a specified ratio at a specified temperature to obtain a solid product (III); and polymerizing .alpha.-olefin(s) in the presence of a catalyst comprising a combination of solid product (III) with an organoaluminum compound. This process provides a catalyst having a high storing and thermal stability and a polymer having a uniform particle size.
