  • Publication number: 20020018593
Abstract: It is an object to print an image as it is inherently formed. Objects constructing the image are separated to character train objects in which there is no need to consider an overlap and the other objects by a character train separator. A character train converter converts the separated character train objects in which there is no need to consider the overlap into character code information and transmits to a printer. The other objects are converted into image information by a drawer and transmitted to the printer. The printer synthesizes a glyph formed by a glyph generator from the character code information onto the received image information and outputs.

  • Patent number: 6212583
Abstract: An interface apparatus capable of appropriate connection with external devices having various specifications. Control signal DRVSEL is used for setting output method of a signal from output circuit 801 to an open-collector drive or a totem-pole drive. 3-State buffer 904 which drives a communication path comes into high-impedance status when its enable input is at a H level, on the other hand, when the enable input is at a L level, drives its output with the same logic as that of AND gate output. When the signal DRVSEL is at the L level, the 3-state buffer 904 drives the output only when its internal signal is at the L level, thus output is made in the open-collector drive. On the other hand, when the signal DRVSEL is at the H level, the 3-state buffer 904 drives the output with the same logic as that of its internal signal, thus output is made in the totem-pole drive.

  • Patent number: 6048115
Abstract: A printing apparatus and a printing processing method are provided in which content of print information is discriminated. A variable is initialized if the result of discrimination indicates the start of a printing job, and the variable is counted up of the result of discrimination indicates start of the next page. In a case where trouble such as jamming occurs during processing of this print information, at which page from the start of printing this trouble occurred is calculated from the variable, and the page number obtained is outputted upon being incorporated in information indicative of the fact that trouble has occurred. As a result, it is possible to output information indicating at which page, from the start of a printing job, trouble such as jamming occurred.

  • Patent number: 5758041
Abstract: An output control method and apparatus for receiving data from an external apparatus such as a floppy disc and generating are disclosed. ID data that is peculiar to a printer is non-volatilely stored in advance into a writable/readable non-volatile secondary memory device such as a hard disc or the like. An ID number sent from an external apparatus such as a host computer is compared with the stored ID number. When the ID numbers don't coincide, data reception from the external apparatus is inhibited. When they coincide, the data from the external apparatus is received and stored into the secondary memory device. The data from the external apparatus is printed with reference to the data stored in the secondary memory device.

  • Patent number: 5500922
Abstract: A printer apparatus comprises: a holding circuit to hold a pattern of a character, a figure, or the like in a form such that it can be enlarged or reduced into an arbitrary size; a converter to convert the pattern of the character, figure, or the like which was held in the holding circuit into a printable dot image of an arbitrary size; and a forming circuit to form a reduced dot image of the character, figure, or the like by the converter in accordance with reduction ratios of a character pitch and a line pitch upon reduction printing in the printer emulation mode. With this apparatus, the reduced print image which accurately conforms with the reduction ratios can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5347265
Abstract: An information processing apparatus which has an apparatus main body having an operation panel and a display. A main control unit is detachably attached as a board into the apparatus main body and controls the whole apparatus such as a copying apparatus, a facsimile apparatus, or printer. A detecting circuit is provided for the apparatus main body and detects a connecting state of the operation panel of the apparatus main body and the main control unit. When the operation panel is not connected to the main control unit, the apparatus displays an error message by the display. The detecting circuit detects the connecting state by checking whether the operation panel has received an initialization command from the main control unit within a predetermined time after the turn-on of the power source or not.
