Abstract: An image capturing apparatus comprises an image capturing unit, a first storage unit configured to store sample images and corresponding image capture frame rates, a display unit configured to display the sample images stored in the first storage unit at a predetermined frame rate, a detecting unit configured to detect a confirmation signal indicating an image capture frame rate corresponding to a sample image selected from the sample images, a driving unit configured to drive the image capturing unit at the image capture frame rate indicated by the confirmation signal, and a second storage unit configured to store image data captured by the image capturing unit.

Abstract: A recording medium controlling apparatus for reading/writing data from/to a recording data area as a recording track formed on a non-circular recording medium while rotating the recording medium includes a detector for detecting a discontinuity in the recording track due to the non-circularity of the recording medium during rotation of the recording medium, and a combiner for combining data present on recording data area portions present before and after the discontinuity in a rotating direction of the recording medium and detected by said detecting means so that these data continue.

Abstract: A combination of a camera and wristwatch, and a new application of a wristwatch that comprises a display device. The camera has recording means for electronically recording an image of an object, and transmission means for transmitting the recorded image on a radio wave. The wristwatch has display means that can display the current time and image, reproduction means for receiving the radio wave from the camera located at a nearby position, and reproducing the image, and display control means for controlling the display means to display the reproduced image. The image sensed by the camera is transmitted to the wristwatch located at a nearby position by radio, and can be displayed on the display means of the wristwatch.

A card 10 has a first or static storage area IC7 adapted to be accessed in a first access method and having stored compressed high-quality music data and compressed high-quality image data, and a second or dynamic storage area CD2 adapted to be accessed in a second access method and having stored non-compressed high-quality music data and non-compressed high-quality image data. A portable player 10 or a household CD card reader 110′ as a reproducer can retrieve and replay the high-quality music data and image data by referring to the compressed music data and image data stored in the IC7.

Abstract: A transmission/reception system includes a transmitter for transmitting pay information, and a plurality of receivers. The transmitter includes a service center for editing contents to be transmitted, and a transmitting station for receiving the contents from the service center and transmitting same. The plurality of receivers each include a mounting portion in which a storage element may be removably mounted. The storage element pre-stores charging information for permitting reception of the pay information and is sold at a predetermined cost. Each receiver determines whether it is allowed to receive and reproduce the pay information in accordance with the charging information stored in the storage element mounted in the mounting portion. When the storage element is purchased, the cost is remitted or electronically sent to one of the service center and an account of said service center. Another part of the cost is remitted to one of the transmitting station and an account of the transmitting station.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus has a portable monitor. Image data taken by the imaging apparatus is compressed and stored. The monitor serves as a view finder which displays image data which is being observed, and also serves to reproduce and display image data stored in a memory. A removable modem is coupled to the imaging apparatus. When the modem is coupled to the imaging apparatus, image data obtained by photography is transmitted through the telephone line. Like the image data, voice data can be stored in the memory and transmitted through the modem. The image data and the voice data can be compressed and combined with each other. By transmitting and receiving such synthesized data, the imaging apparatus can be used as a TV telephone.

Abstract: A pocketable imaging apparatus which can be carried by a user. A body case has a liquid crystal display section therein and a rotatable camera section. A memory device built into the body case can store several sheets of images taken by the camera section. The liquid crystal display section displays thereon either an image stored in the memory device or an image taken by the camera section. The liquid crystal display section is provided on the back of the body case. The camera section is provided rotatably on the left side of the body case so as to form the same flat surfaces as the front and back surfaces of the body case even if the camera section is rotated through an angle of 180.degree. forward and backward. A telephone line jack is also provided on the body case to enable the user to transmit the image on a telephone via telephone lines at any place where a telephone can be installed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a TV telephone system that comprises a TV telephone apparatus, which includes image pickup means, display means and an input/output port to connect to another apparatus, and a station, which includes a modulation/demodulation section to connect to a telephone line and an input/output port to connect to the TV telephone apparatus, whereby when the TV telephone apparatus is connected to the station, an image is exchanged therebetween over a telephone line using the image pickup means and display means of the TV telephone apparatus.

Abstract: A video camera apparatus with an image-projecting function comprises a recording/reproduction device for recording an image picked up by a pickup lens and an image pickup element on a recording medium, such as a magnetic tape, and reproduces the recorded image from the recording medium. This apparatus is also equipped with a liquid crystal display panel for displaying the image reproduced by the recording/reproduction device or the picked-up image. When light from a light source is irradiated on the liquid crystal display panel, the image thereon can be projected, enlarged by a projection lens. The pickup lens may also serve as the projection lens.

Abstract: A pager has a TV receiver for receiving a TV radio wave which causes the display to display a TV image. The pager has a color designation circuit for designating a display color of a message. The color designation circuit designates the display color of the message in accordance with a predetermined method for emphasizing the message. The display then displays the message in the designated color.

Abstract: An image data supervising system includes an imaging device, a reproducing device and a data supervising unit for processing, for instance, an electronic still image. In the image data supervising system, the still images are recorded on a recording medium such as a video floppy disk, and the data relating to the still images recorded on the recording medium are written into an memory unit. The data which have been written in the memory unit can be confirmed at any desirable time by way of the data supervising unit. While the image data which have been recorded on the recording medium are reproduced by the reproducing device, any desirable data can be superimposed on this reproduced image data.

Abstract: An electronic still camera is equipped with a semiconductor memory in which a plurality of images photographed in a shutter standby condition are temporarily stored. An image taken when the shutter is depressed can be substituted with any image among the plural images which have been stored in the semiconductor memory. The image having the least blurring phenomenon among the plural images which have been stored in the semiconductor memory is detected and recorded on a non-volatile memory.

Abstract: A pager has a TV receiver for receiving a TV radio wave which causes the display to display a TV image. The pager has a color designation circuit for designating a display color of a message. The color designation circuit designates the display color of the message in accordance with a predetermined method for emphasizing the message. The display then displays the message in the designated color.

Abstract: In a compact liquid crystal television receiver having an information memory, map information, train time table information, or telephone directory information is prestored in the information memory, and is read out therefrom as needed. The readout information data is displayed on a screen, instead of a television image. In the case, window display can be used. The information memory is an IC card, and a still image audio or characters by character broadcasting can be recorded or reproduced.
