  • Patent number: 7574498
Abstract: A device identification information managing system is provided. A network printer generates an extension device identifier depending upon dynamic information and a subject-of-registration-device identifier including a basic device identifier of the storage device and a generated extension device identifier, to send the generated subject-of-registration-device identifier to a printer managing server and notify the user. The printer managing server, when receiving a subject-of-registration-device identifier, tentatively registers the received subject-of-registration device identifier to the storage device. When a collating device identifier is received, the received collating device identifier is collated with the subject-of-registration-device identifier of the storage device. Depending upon the collation result, the subject-of-registration-device identifier is registered to the storage device.

  • Publication number: 20090063697
Abstract: A file transfer system includes transfer requesting terminals, a transfer responding terminal, and a mediating server. If a transfer responding terminal sends to the mediating server a request for session setup with the transfer responding terminal, the mediating server forwards the connection request to the transfer responding terminal irrespective of whether a session has been set up between any one of the transfer requesting terminals and the transfer responding terminal. The transfer responding terminal returns a connection acceptance response to the mediating server including location of a file transfer destination if a number of existing connections is less than its maximum number, or returns a connection refusal response if the number of connections is equal to the maximum number. The mediating server forwards the connection response to the transfer requesting terminal that originally sent the connection request.

  • Publication number: 20080155699
Abstract: An output system is provided, which is capable of not only enhancing the security, but also performing outputs even when a number of output requests are issued simultaneously or almost simultaneous and suitable for relieving traffic concentration. A printer server 200 registers print data in a storage device 63 to have a correlation with user identification information in response to a print request from a host terminal 100. When an identification card is inserted into a card reader 86, a network printer 300 reads the user identification information from the identification card, and transmits the user identification information thus read to the printer server 200. Upon receipt of the user identification information, the printer server 200 retrieves print data corresponding to the user identification information identical with the received user identification information from the storage device 63, and transmits the retrieved print data to the network printer 300.
