  • Patent number: 5127158
Abstract: A process for producing a printed circuit board includes steps, sequentially conducted of dispersing in water or organic solvent:(A) 95 to 20% by weight of a styrene polymer having a syndiotactic structure, (B) 5 to 80% by weight of a fibrous filler having a fiber length of 1 to 50 mm, and (C) 0.1 to 30 parts by weight of at least one of a binder and a binding fiber in proportion to 100 parts by weight of the total amount of the components (A) and (B), to make a slurry having a concentration of 0.5 to 100 g/l; separating the solids from the slurry and drying and molding them. Thereafter the solids are either subjected to melting with heating and pressure forming into the molded article, or they are impregnated with a thermoplastic resin which is then cured. Finally, a metal layer is provided on the molded article.

  • Patent number: 5109068
Abstract: There is disclosed a styrene-based polymer composition which comprises(A) 10 to 98% by weight of a styrene-based polymer having syndiotactic configuration with a racemic pentad of 30% or more and(B) 90 to 2% by weight of polyphenylene ether having an inrinsic viscosity of 0.28 dl/g or more at 30.degree. C. in chloroform. Also, a flame retarder, a flame-retardant aid, a rubber-like elastomer or an inorganic filler may optionally be added to the composition.Further, also disclosed is a stretched molding comprising stretching the above composition.

  • Patent number: 5071953
Abstract: An amorphous and excellently moldable styrene-based polymer having a syndiotactic structure can be obtained when a styrene-based polymer having a substantially syndiotactic structure is dissolved in a solvent followed by separation and recovery of the polymer from the solution or melt thereof is quenched. Shaping the same gives various kinds of shaped articles having excellent mechanical strengths and heat resistance. Physical properties of the shaped articles can be further improved by a modification treatment.

  • Patent number: 5034441
Abstract: Disclosed is a styrene-based resin composition which comprises (a) 100 parts by weight of styrene-based polymer having a high degree of syndiotactic configuration, (b) 0.01 to 15 parts by weight of at least one nucleating agent selected from an organophosphorus compound and a metal salt of an organic acid, and (c) 0.01 to 15 parts by weight of at least one component selected from a polyoxyalkylene compound, a fatty acid and a derivative thereof. The composition can produce various molding products with excellent mold-releasing property, surface gloss, bending strength, bending modulus and heat resistance.
