  • Publication number: 20070034727
Abstract: A roll holder device is composed of a first holder and a second holder. The first holder is provided with a rotary-claw unit for a forward rotation, which works when the first holder rotates in a forward direction (clockwise direction). The rotary-claw unit includes a rotary claw, a retainer, a compression spring, a stopper and so forth. The rotary claw is rotatable around a shaft attached to the retainer. The compression spring biases the retainer toward the stopper in the clockwise direction. In attaching the first holder to a recording-paper roll, the rotary claw abuts on and rotates along an inner circumference of a core of the recording-paper roll.

  • Patent number: 7100859
Abstract: A holder device for holding a recording paper roll includes a pair of holders. A first holder has a first fitting portion with an anti-slip device and a first engagement portion. The anti-slip device has two claw members for forward rotation symmetrically disposed each other with respect to a center of rotation of the recording paper roll, two claw members for backward rotation disposed likewise, and springs biasing each claw member to an engagement position. When the first holder rotates in a forward or backward direction, the claw members for forward rotation or for backward rotation move to the engagement positions, respectively, in order to prevent a slip of the recording paper roll. An edge of each claw member is tapered along an attachment direction of the recording paper for easy attachment.

  • Patent number: 7059558
Abstract: A recording material roll is constituted by winding thermosensitive recording material of paper. A recording material magazine for the recording material roll includes a containing chamber, which contains the recording material roll. A supply roller is secured to the containing chamber in a rotatable manner, and advances the recording material from the recording material roll to an outside of the containing chamber. A pressing roller is disposed away from the supply roller in a winding direction of the recording material roll, and presses an outermost turn of the recording material roll.

  • Publication number: 20050220525
Abstract: A print carrying device comprises a first stage and a second stage. The first stage receives a print discharged by a discharge roller pair in a discharging direction (first direction). The second stage carries the print in a second direction different from the discharging direction. The first stage includes a pushing mechanism, which pushes the print in the second direction to press an end of the print against a carrying roller pair disposed in the second stage. Te pushing mechanism comprises a pushing unit provided with claws, and a driving unit for pulling the pushing unit.

  • Patent number: 6708971
Abstract: A paper supplying method for supplying recording sheets from a paper cassette to a printer including rotating the paper supply rollers to feed the recording sheet into the printer in response to a print start command and rotating the paper supply rollers after an end of paper supply to return other recording sheets to a predetermined paper supply start position; or, rotating the paper supply rollers in response to a print start command, detecting the recording sheets which protrude from a predetermined paper supply start position, and returning those recording sheets to the paper supply start position; or, rotating the paper supply rollers to feed the recording sheet in response to a print start command, detecting that the paper cassette is loaded, and rotating the paper supply rollers to return the recording sheets to a paper supply start position at each loading of the cassette.

  • Patent number: 6698959
Abstract: A loading lid is provided with a roll holding mechanism. The roll holding mechanism is constituted of a holder plate, a first position regulate section and a second position regulate section. The holder plate and the loading lid are attached to a same shaft. The holder plate is biased by a spring toward the loading lid. After the printing paper roll is put on the loading lid, it is closed. On closing the loading lid, as it relatively moves to the holder plate, an open angle between the loading lid and the holder plate becomes smaller gradually. When first and second positioning plates and the holder plate contact to a periphery of the paper roll, the loading lid stops relatively moving to the holder plate. Thereafter, the loading lid and the holder plate move together while they keep the open angle in accordance with the largeness of the radius of the paper roll. When the loading lid is perfectly closed, a center of a roll core is set at a predetermined position, regardless of the largeness of the paper roll.

  • Patent number: 6667753
Abstract: A separator abuts on a leading edge of a recording paper to separate it from a periphery of a paper roll when the paper roll is rotated forward in a paper feeding direction. The separator is attached to a supporting arm, which is urged by a spring so as to move the separator in accordance with a change of a diameter of the paper roll. The separator is provided with a vibration detecting sensor. While the paper roll is rotated backward in a winding direction, the vibration detecting sensor outputs a signal to a controller. This signal has a level corresponding to a scale of vibration. The controller detects the leading edge from the signal level when a head portion of the separator has overleapt the leading edge of the recording paper.

  • Patent number: 6561506
Abstract: A thermal printer includes a thermal printer component for image recording to a thermosensitive recording sheet. There is a loading opening through which the thermal printer component is supplied with the recording sheet. Plural guiding projections position the recording sheet in the loading opening. A recording sheet package includes a packaging case for containing a loose stack of plural recording sheets. The loading opening is loadable with the packaging case. A package outlet is formed in the packaging case for passage of each recording sheet, and set directed toward the thermal printer component. Plural cutouts are formed in a periphery of the packaging case, and receive the guiding projections. Blocking portions of a blocking frame are disposed inside the packaging case, and close the cut-outs. The blocking portions are shiftable inwards from the cutouts by the guiding projections.

  • Patent number: 6520701
Abstract: A cutter device includes at least one stationary blade, which has a stationary blade cutting edge extending crosswise to a recording sheet. At least one movable blade moves in contact with the stationary blade cutting edge to cut the recording sheet. A stopper plate prevents the recording sheet from being moved by the movable blade while the movable blade cuts the recording sheet. In a preferred embodiment, the stopper plate is shiftable between a stopper position and a retracted position, and when in the stopper position, contacts a side edge of the recording sheet, and when in the retracted position, is away from the side edge.

  • Patent number: 6408750
Abstract: A color thermosensitive recording sheet extends two-dimensionally in main and sub scan directions perpendicular to each other. In a thermal printer for use with the recording sheet, two cutters remove front and rear margins from the recording sheet by cutting the recording sheet along lines extending in the main scan direction. Two slitters remove first and second side margins from the recording sheet by slitting the recording sheet along lines extending in the sub scan direction. A slitter shifter shifts the slitters in the main scan direction between a slitting position and home position. The slitters are set at the side margins when in the slitting position, and away from the recording sheet when in the home position. An externally operable mode selector selectively sets a marginless mode and margin mode. A controller causes the slitter shifter to shift the slitters to the slitting position when the marginless mode is set, and actuates the cutters and slitters.

  • Patent number: 6252654
Abstract: A detecting lever for a remaining amount of recording papers is provided at the bottom of a paper cassette. The top of the detecting lever abuts on the recording paper contained in the paper cassette. As the recording paper is used, the detecting lever is rotated in a thickness direction of the recording papers. The rotation of the detecting lever is transmitted to an indicating lever, one end of which engages with the detecting lever. Upon rotation of the detecting lever, the other end of the indicating lever is adapted to be largely moved. A label for indicating the remaining amount of the recording paper is provided on the other end of the indicating lever. The remaining amount is represented by the label in accordance with the movement of the indicating lever.
