Abstract: A developing device includes a developing sleeve for bearing and conveying a magnetic developer, a magnet provided within the developing sleeve, and magnetic members, provided so as to face end portions of the developing sleeve with a gap, for forming a magnetic seal by a magnetic field formed between the magnetic members and the magnet. The magnet or each of the magnetic members has a plurality of grooves for forming a leakage magnetic field.

Abstract: In the disclosed recording and/or reproducing apparatus, a switch detects whether the recording medium is mounted on the apparatus and a signal detecting head detects whether a signal is recorded on each of the recording tracks of the medium. In response to the switch detecting that the medium is mounted on the apparatus, a control circuit causes the signal detecting head sequentially to scan the recording tracks on the recording medium one after another. A memory stores the output of the signal detecting head during the sequential scanning operation so that a vacant track search operation can be accomplished within a short period of time.

Abstract: An exposure control device having exposure control means arranged to vary a charging method thereof according to the selection of a continuous shooting mode or a non-continuous shooting mode. With the exposure control means including at least a shutter, the shutter is arranged to be moved to a less degree in the continuous shooting mode than in the non-continuous shooting mode. After completion of continuous shooting, the shutter moving degree is changed to a degree to which the shutter is to be moved in the non-continuous shooting mode.

The loading device includes a first holding member for holding a cassette and a second holding member which is located behind the first holding member relative to a cassette inserting direction and is arranged separately from the first holding member to hold the cassette in conjunction with the first holding member. The arrangement facilitates assembly and adjustment work on the loading device and particularly on cassette holding devices.

Abstract: A motion picture camera provided with an automatic focusing device is arranged to have an image of light emitted from an infrared ray emitting diode projected toward an object to be photographed, and to detect an in-focus state by detecting a peak value of output voltage from a light sensitive element as the direction of the emitted light is varied by a rotatable distance measuring cam. The automatic focusing device is adapted for a zoom lens assembly and is arranged to drive an imaging lens, supported by a shaft which is guided by plate shaped masks at both ends of the lens assembly, in the direction of the lens optical axis. The force for driving the imaging lens is kept low, so that the imaging lens can be accurately adjusted by a rotatable focusing cam during a focusing operation. The rotational position of the distance measuring cam, and that of the focusing cam, are provided in the form of resistance values which vary according to the cam lifts, or in the form of digital codes.
