    Abstract: The present invention performs characteristic tests on a communication device with a compact and simple configuration. A testing device 1 that performs characteristic tests in a near field on a communication antenna 250 of a communication device 240 includes a tray body 220 that supports the communication device in a test space S as an anechoic chamber, and a coupler support frame 520 that supports coupler antennas transmitting and receiving radio waves to/from the communication antenna 250.     Abstract: By performing continuous matching in an entire frequency band from 600 MHz to 6 GHz by one antenna device, communication with a plurality of types of communication devices having different used frequency bands becomes possible without switching the antenna device. In the antenna device, a first insulating plate 40, a capacitive coupling portion 45a of a tuning plate 45, a radio wave absorber 50, a grounding portion 45b of the tuning plate 45 folded back to the back side of the radio wave absorber 50, and a tuning coated plate 55 provided with a metallic plated film formed on the surface thereof are sequentially stacked below an antenna element 30 having a shape obtained by removing an arched portion from a copper circular plate.     Abstract: Disclosed is a lithium ion battery that can easily be manufactured and comprises a negative-electrode active material formed of a burned product of any of soybean hulls, rapeseed meal, cotton hulls, sesame, and cotton seeds. The burned product of any of the soybean hulls, rapeseed meal, cotton hulls, sesame, and cotton seeds is ground to obtain a negative-electrode active material having a carbon content of not less than 70%. The inner skin of the burned product has a net-like structure. The negative-electrode active material is coated onto the both sides of a metal foil to manufacture a negative electrode for a lithium ion battery. A lithium ion battery using the negative electrode is then manufactured.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing silicon carbide fibers having a C/Si molar ratio of from 0.85 to 1.39 and excellent in heat resistance and strength at high temperatures, while conventional processes have not been able to produce the fibers having the ratio of less than 1.56.The process of the present invention comprises the steps of rendering infusible precursory fibers made from an organosilicon polymer compound to obtain infusible fibers, then primarily baking the infusible fibers in a hydrogen gas-containing atmosphere while raising the temperature thereof to obtain primarily baked fibers, and further secondarily baking the primarily baked fibers to obtain final fibers. The secondary baking is performed in the atmosphere of a mixed gas of an inert gas with hydrogen chloride gas at 1,500.degree. to 2,200.degree. C.
