  • Patent number: 8257920
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide detection methods of Notch signaling activation for detecting the activation of the Notch signaling in living cells simply and conveniently. The expression of a fluorescent protein Venus in a transgenic cell into which a vector having the fluorescent protein Venus gene which is controlled by the wild-type Hes-1 gene promoter has been introduced is compared with the expression of a fluorescent protein Venus in a transgenic cell into which a vector having the fluorescent protein Venus gene controlled by a mutated Hes-1 gene promoter which is not controlled by an activated Notch protein has been introduced, and a transgenic cell in which a signal by the expression of Venus introduced by the vector having the wild-type Hes-1 promoter is observed and in which a signal by the expression of Venus introduced by the vector having the mutated Hes-1 gene promoter which is not controlled by the activated Notch protein is not observed is identified.

  • Publication number: 20080313367
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a reproducing device of an information storage medium sufficiently reproduces resource data of advanced contents as much as possible. The device uses a ring buffer to temporarily store packets of resource data of a video stream. Packets read out from the buffer are basically transferred to a file cache in response to a playlist. If a storage area in the cache cannot be secured, a packet list storage unit stores a packet list to be stored in the buffer. The packet list includes a pointer on the buffer of packets composing the resource data. When the cache makes it possible to store the packets therein, the buffer can transfer the packets to the cache at a high speed.

  • Patent number: 7264793
Abstract: An Numb protein expression inhibitor comprising, as active ingredient, Musashi protein, a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence obtained by replacement, deletion, addition or insertion of at least one amino acid in an amino acid sequence of Musashi protein, or a gene encoding said polypeptide. By the present invention, a new function of Musashi protein has been elucidated. Described specifically, Musashi protein inhibits expression of Numb protein having a neuronal differentiation regulating function and potentiates the activity of the Notch signaling system, so that Musashi protein can be used as a therapeutic for various diseases of the central nervous system.
