  • Publication number: 20050016242
Abstract: A continuous hot-rolling mill includes an upper rolling unit including a plurality of rolling stands, and a lower rolling unit including a plurality of rolling stands and disposed downstream with respect to the upper rolling unit in a workpiece passing direction in which a workpiece to be rolled is passed. The two or more rolling stands of the lower rolling unit are differential or very-small-diameter rolling stands. Each of the two or more differential or very-small-diameter rolling stands of the lower rolling unit is provided with a drive motor having a capacity greater than that of any one of drive motors included in the rolling stands disposed upstream the differential or very-small-diameter rolling stands. The continuous hot-rolling mill is suitable for producing hot-rolled, fine-grained steel sheets and is excellent in sheet passing abilities for preventing the steel sheet from meandering and for rolling the steel sheet in a desired shape.

  • Patent number: 6820453
Abstract: A sheet rolling method uses a rolling mill (10) for rolling a sheet (x). The rolling mill (10) includes upper and lower backup rolls (13, 14), and a pair of work rolls (11, 12) respectively having different diameters and disposed between the upper and the lower backup roll (13, 14). A small-diameter work roll (11) of the pair of work rolls is disposed so that a rotational axis thereof is positioned on a mill center or a downstream side with respect to the mill center in a rolling direction, and the large-diameter work roll (12) is disposed so that a rotational axis thereof is positioned on a downstream side with respect to the rotational axis of the small-diameter work roll (11) in the rolling direction. Thus, mechanical load on the work rolls (11, 12) can be reduced even when a high rolling force is necessary for rolling a wide sheet.

  • Patent number: 5884643
Abstract: There is provided a cleaning apparatus for a surface of a sheet steel capable of satisfactorily removing scale from a surface of a sheet steel before, for example, hot rolling. Waters (42a, 46a) are ejected from nozzles (42, 46), with an ejection pressure of 100 kg/cm.sup.2, a flow rate of 60 liters/minute and an ejection angle of 20.degree. with respect to normal of the surface (32a) of the sheet steel, toward a downward-stream end with respect to a carrying direction. On the other hand, waters (44a, 48a) are ejected also from nozzles (44, 48), with the same ejection pressure, flow rate and ejection angle as those of the nozzles (42, 46), but different in the ejecting direction. That is, waters (44a, 48a) are ejected toward an upward-stream end with respect to the carrying direction.

  • Patent number: 5487151
Abstract: A transmission data synchronization system in a disaster prevention monitoring system comprises the steps of: connecting a plurality of terminal units to first and second transmission lines led out from a receiver; sending out access data in the form of a voltage from the receiver through the first transmission line; and sending back response data by a terminal unit specified in the access data in the form of an electric current through the second transmission line during a response time period. The response data sent back by a terminal unit which has responded to the access data sent out by the receiver is formed of terminal state data and checksum data produced by adding the terminal state data to the self-address data. The receiver adds the address data to the terminal state data, and determines that a transmission error has occurred when the data determined from the addition does not match the checksum data.

  • Patent number: 5432805
Abstract: During data transmission between a receiver and each of terminal devices in a disaster prevention supervisory system, the receiver sends calling data including address data for specifying a specific terminal device to the side of terminal devices in a transmission error detection mode. The receiver also causes the terminal device specified by the address data to return error detection response data including self-address data and check data for a current level previously defined. When the current level of the check data in the error detection response data received by the receiver is higher than the level previously defined due to the response of a plurality of terminal devices, it is decided that an abnormality is present in the terminal device of the address specified by the calling data.

  • Patent number: 5046920
Abstract: A bearing cooling system for a water turbine having a rotatable shaft connected at one end to a movable blade portion and supported by a journal bearing and by a thrust bearing having a collar, comprises a heat pipe including a first container surrounding and spaced from the rotatable shaft and extending axially from a predetermined engaging position adjacent the one end of the shaft to the journal and thrust bearings. The thrust bearing engages the outer surface of the first container, and the shaft and thrust bearing and inner surface of the container define walls of a sealed first chamber surrounding a portion of the rotatable shaft and communicating with the journal and thrust bearings. The system is adapted to include a fluid contained in the first chamber for absorbing heat generated by the journal and thrust bearings. A second container is spaced from and surrounds a portion of the first container adjacent the one end of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4823585
Abstract: A hot rolling method using a hot finishing mill including a pair of work rolls each having a taper ground end at one end of its barrel and arranged one above the other with the taper ground ends being on opposite sides so as to locate both edges of a plate-like material to be rolled in respective zones of the taper ground ends. Work rolls are cyclically shifted in their axial direction within a range so as not to permit the both edges of the material to come out of the taper ground ends of the work rolls, thereby preventing edge built-ups of the material and simultaneously effecting crown-controlling of the rolled material. The work rolls are finely shifted and simultaneously a bending action is applied to the work rolls in a manner to eliminate a bending action acting upon the work rolls caused by the material being rolled by the work rolls.

  • Patent number: 4232292
Abstract: A data transmission system having a clock pulse generator 1, a plurality of transmitters each including a plurality of switches 7-1 for inputting data, gate circuits 5-1 receiving the outputs of said plurality of switches through one inputs thereof and temporary memory circuits 6-1 for temporarily storing the outputs of the gate circuits. Scanning circuits 3-1 apply outputs successively in synchronization with the output pulses from the clock pulse generator. The transmitters are interconnected first by a synchronous line S.sub.1 adapted to apply the output pulses of the clock pulse generator to the scanning circuits in the transmitters and secondly by a signal line S.sub.2 connecting the outputs terminals of the gate circuits in the transmitters.

  • Patent number: 4227180
Abstract: A centralized monitor and control system includes a plurality of pairs of link lines which connect, in matrix form, a plurality of alarm switches, controlled devices, etc., installed at an alarming terminal end with a plurality of alarm display devices, starting control switches, etc., installed at a receiving end in correspondence with the devices at the terminal end, whereby the display devices adapted to be actuated by the alarm switches or the controlled devices adapted to be actuated by the control devices are operated in response to sequential scanning of the one link lines of the paired link system, thus decreasing the number of the link lines used. The number of the link lines used can be decreased further by effecting the sequential scanning by means of a parallel set of binary coded pulse signals and by connecting the one link line array of the matrix to the alarm switches or the controlled devices and the display devices or the control switches through logical circuits.

  • Patent number: 4163224
Abstract: The present invention is a display device with a memory which stores the order of reception of actuating signals from a plurality of terminal units. When one of the terminal units produces a signal a first counter causes the outputs of all the terminal units to be scanned. Each terminal unit is connected to a resettable one shot circuit which is scanned under the control of the first counter. When the signaling terminal unit is scanned, the resettable one shot is triggered to advance the count of a second counter. Then the number in the first counter, which corresponds to the specific signaling terminal unit, is stored in one of a plurality of memory means which corresponds to the order of reception stored in the second counter. The resettable one shot circuits prevent the number of a specific terminal unit from being stored in a second memory means due to a continued or repeated signal.
