  • Patent number: 6599467
Abstract: The invention provides a process for forging a titanium-based material comprises the steps of: preparing a titanium-based sintered workpiece including at least one of ceramics particles and pores in a total amount of 1% or more by volume, the ceramics particles being thermodynamically stable in a titanium alloy; and heating the workpiece to a forging temperature and forging the same. In the production process, the pores or the ceramics particles inhibit the grain growth during forging. Accordingly, it is possible to carry out the forging at a relatively high temperature at which the titanium-based material exhibits a small resistance to deformation. Moreover, the titanium-based material can maintain an appropriate microstructure even after the forging. Consequently, the impact value and the fatigue strength are inhibited from decreasing.

  • Patent number: 5810948
Abstract: A nitriding steel excellent in formability and susceptibility to nitriding, comprising, based on weight, 0.0002 to less than 0.08% of C, 0.005 to 1.00% of Si, 0.010 to 3.00% of Mn, 0.001 to 0.150% of P, 0.0002 to 0.0100% of N, greater than 0.15 to 5.00% of Cr, greater than 0.060 to 2.00% of Al (Al becoming a selective component in an amount of greater than 0.10 to 2.00% when the C content is from 0.0002 to less than 0.0100%), one or two elements selected from 0.010 to 1.00% of Ti and 0.010 to 1.00% of V, and the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities, and a press formed article formed from the steel and having a hard nitride layer at least on one side.

  • Patent number: 5722282
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a cup-shaped article includes making the thickness of a cylinder portion of a cup-shaped configuration uniform, between a step of drawing a flat plate material portion into a cup-shaped configuration and a step of ironing the cup-shaped configuration into a final cup-shaped article. Increasing the thickness may be performed by coining or axial compression. The thickness increasing step may be replaced by a step, provided prior to the drawing step, of providing a plate material portion having a greater thickness at a radially inner portion than at a radially outer portion.

  • Patent number: 5345068
Abstract: A cooking oven is provided with a weight detection unit for detecting the weight of a cooking object placed on a turntable. The turntable is movable into and out of a heating chamber associated with the cooking oven by means of a moving unit drivingly connected to the turntable through a lever and connecting rod. A heater and a rotary drive unit for rotating a table upon which the turntable is mounted are controlled according to a signal from the weight detection unit. The cooking oven is also provided with an external input unit for supplying data on the heating operation and on the driving of the turntable. Either manual or automatic operation of moving the turntable back and forth can be selected according to a signal from the external input unit.
