  • Patent number: 8280310
Abstract: The present invention provides with a terminal having a monitoring period changing function for changing the value (monitoring period) of a no-traffic monitoring timer of the terminal by feeding back the information on radio signal conditions, and a no-traffic monitoring function for changing the status of the call of the terminal to “a disconnected state for only receiving radio signal from a base station” depending on the value (monitoring period) of the no-traffic monitoring timer based on the information fed back.

  • Patent number: 8270370
Abstract: In a base station controller for controlling the operation of a base station for executing call control which permits a connection in response to a connecting request from a radio terminal, when a stop instruction of the call control of the base station is received, the number of radio terminals which can be connected to the base station is decreased and thereafter the call control is stopped, and when the call control of the base station is restarted, the number of radio terminals which can be connected to the base station is increased.

  • Patent number: 7702366
Abstract: Terminals #1 to #3 which have already been connected and a terminal #4 which wants to make a new connection send packets to a base station in that order. The base station queues the packets from the terminals #1 to #3 at a non-priority queue and the packet from the terminal #4 at a priority queue. For example, a predetermined amount of packets from a new connection is queued at the priority queue. Packets in the priority queue are dequeued with priority. Therefore, the packet sent from the terminal #4 is first sent to a base-station controller, and then the packets sent from the terminals #1 to #3 are sent to the base-station controller. As a result, the base-station controller first receives the packet sent from the terminal #4, and the period of time required for the terminal #4 to establish a connection is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070086384
Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus for communicating with a base station is provided with the function of specifying the type of an application from header information of an IP packet issued by the application, searching for a set of radio parameters for assuring a Quality of Service (QoS) required by the application from a conversion table having been prepared beforehand, and automatically setting up a new session based on the set of radio parameters.

  • Patent number: 6879592
Abstract: A switching system for realizing integration of existing communication networks or interconnections thereof, and a switching control method. After a call is originated from an ATM communication network 101 to an STM communication network 102, an ATMIF 20 that has received a connection request signal (control signal) converts the control signal into a format of an ATM cell 1000, adds a header destined to one of SIG 50-1 to n for processing control signals, and then output the same. An ATMSW 10 performs self-routing based on header information. The selected one of the SIG 50-1 to n performs conversion for the ATM cell 1000 by a specified protocol, makes an ATM cell 1100 having a header destined to one of CLP 630-1 to k for processing control signals, and then output the same. Upon having received the ATM cell 1100, the CLP 630 links up with other processors to perform call connection control, functions having been dispersed among the other processors.

  • Patent number: 5121786
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a siamese-type clyinder block which is disclosed herein comprises a blank making step of providing a cylinder block blank in which a sleeve made of a cast iron is cast in each cylinder barrel of a siamese-type barrel made of an aluminum alloy and consisting of a plurality of cylinder barrels connected in series, and a mechanically working or machining step of forming the inner peripheral surface of each sleeve of the cylinder block blank into a true circle. The process is characterized in that the blank making step includes placing highly rigid sleeves each having a thickness set as large as 10% or more of the inner diameter thereof into a siamese-type cylinder barrel molding cavity in a mold and then pouring a molten metal of aluminum alloy under a pressure into the cavity to effect a casting. The sleeve is cast-in as it is at an ambient temperature or in a heated state.

  • Patent number: 4905642
Abstract: A siamese-type cylinder block blank which is composed so that upon the pouring a molten metal under a pressure, a sleeve of cast iron is cast in each cylinder barrel of a siamese-type cylinder barrel made of an aluminum alloy and consisting of a plurality of cylinder barrels connected in series. The cylinder block blank is characterized in that each sleeve cast presents a substantially oval configuration in section with the lengthwise axis parallel to the direction of cylinder barrels arranged, as a result of the reception of the solidification shrinkage force of each cylinder barrel.

  • Patent number: 4766944
Abstract: A process for casing a fiber-reinforced metal body by placing a shaped fibrous article made of a reinforcing fiber into a cavity in a casting mold and filling a molten metal into the shaped fibrous article to solidify it, the process further including the steps of pouring the molten metal into the cavity from the lower portion thereof, while venting gas present within the cavity through a gas vent passage having a very small opening communicating with the upper portion of the cavity, and closing the gas vent passage and completely solidifying the molten metal under a higher pressure.

  • Patent number: 4519436
Abstract: A method for injecting molten metal in a vertical diecasting machine. In order to efficiently produce high quality castings, a molten metal is injected into a mold cavity with the upper part of the mold cavity communicating with the atmosphere, the mold cavity is occluded before the completion of the injection, and then the molten metal is pressurized to suppress the trapping of air or gases in the casting.
