Abstract: Character information is standardized in electronic documents. By comparing a font used in an electronic document and a font within a target font set to be provided as a replacement font, a font comparison table referred to during actual font replacement is automatically generated. The font comparison table is presented to the user, in order for the user to amend errors in the comparison table. The font in the electronic document is replaced based on the amended font comparison table.

Abstract: To provide a method for font access, a method for font registration, a method for font display, a method for font printing and a method for handling an electronic document in which a variant font is included, and a recording medium therefor, whereby the creator of an electronic document can use many more characters than those to which restricted by the conventional character codes. According to the method for font access, the method for font registration, the method for font display, the method for font printing, and the method for processing an electronic document in which a variant font is included, a variant font file is used that includes a variant font data file and an index conversion table having a primary index table and a secondary index table.

It provides a business object (software component) for use in highly secured information processing, such as an accounting calculation or an electronic commerce, is rendered to contain therein electronic certificate and signature of its provider, in addition to object management information such as term's validity information. In so doing, it becomes possible to check credibility of the object. Also, if a given object is found to have a problem about its credibility, another provider of another object with the same name that exists on a predetermined object retrieval path, as well as its term's validity information will be checked to automatically locate such an object on a network that passes the test of credibility, thereby to automatically correct the security problem.

Abstract: The present invention establishes a TCP/IP session between terminals which connect to a network on-demand by a dial up PPP. This is achieved by connecting from a local terminal X to a local connection point A of the network by a dial up PPP, calling a remote terminal Y from a secondary server C on the network based on information from the local terminal X and sending a FAX message containing an IP address of the local terminal X, and connecting the remote terminal Y to the network by a dial up PPP by a daemon on the remote terminal Y which is started based on the transmitted FAX message to send the IP address of the remote terminal to the local terminal.

Abstract: The invention enables transformation of an SQL statement of CHAR type to another SQL statement of another data type adequate for a database that is defined by a character string type other than CHAR type, thereby enabling to access the database using an SQL statement of CHAR type. At a call level interface (CLI driver), a literal such as a condition clause of an SQL SELECT statement that is included in an application program, a column value of an UPDATE statement or the like is passed to a function of the call level interface as a parameter. The call level interface examines a character type and a character code included in the passed literal, selects the most probable one of character string data types of a database to be accessed, modifies its access syntax in line with the selected data type and attempts to access the database. Accessing of the database is attempted while sequentially modifying the access syntax in the order of probability.

Abstract: Process for drying wet particles of hydrolyzed ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer under the specific condition as follows:A. a pressure in a dryer of not more than 120 mmHg,B. a temperature of the heating surface of dryer of not more than 100.degree. C., andC. T .times. .theta..sup.0.6 .ltoreq. 320, wherein T is a temperature (.degree. C.) of the heating surface of dryer and .theta. is a residence time (hour) of the particles in the dryer. The thus obtained particles have excellent molding properties.
