  • Publication number: 20070035882
Abstract: A floating thing-film magnetic head and method of producing the same is provided. A floating thin-film magnetic head includes a slider that is floated from a surface of a rotating recording medium by airflow generated over the surface of the recording medium. A thin-film magnetic head element formed on an air-outflow end surface of the slider. A crown is formed on a medium-facing surface formed of the bottom surfaces of the slider and the thin-film magnetic head element that protrudes in a section that includes an air-inflow end and an air-outflow end of the slider. The crown includes a large-diameter crown with a large curvature radius that forms a central portion of the medium-facing surface that excludes the air-inflow end and the air-outflow end. A small-diameter crown forms portions of the medium-facing surface that correspond to the air-inflow end and the air-outflow end.

  • Patent number: 6134911
Abstract: A compressor (30) for use in a refrigerator, which has a rotary shaft (33) supported by bearings (39 to 42) to be lubricated by a liquid refrigerant and is adapted to permit the rotary shaft 33 to continue rotating for a while after a liquid refrigerant pump (36) is stopped at, for example, a power failure, thereby preventing the bearings (39 to 42) from being damaged. To that end, the compressor (30) is further provided with a header (52) for storing a predetermined amount of a high-pressure liquid refrigerant, and with check valves (51, 54 and 56) for maintaining the internal pressure of this header (52) at a high pressure for a predetermined time period after a power failure occurs.

  • Patent number: 6010315

To that end the compressor has a reservoir liquid tank for storing high pressure liquid refrigerant to be supplied to the bearing and a gas storage tank for storing high pressure gas. There is a valve system connected between the gas storage tank and the reservoir liquid tank which is operable upon a power failure to supply high pressure gas to the liquid storage tank.

  • Patent number: 5884498
Abstract: A turborefrigerator in which a coolant discharged from a turbocompressor is condensed in a condenser by dissipating heat to a cooling medium and is then reduced by a throttling mechanism, and thereafter, the coolant evaporates by absorbing heat from a cooled medium in an evaporator and is circulated to the turbocompressor. The present invention simplifies the configuration of such a turborefrigerator, so that the size, weight and cost thereof are reduced. Moreover, the present invention enhances the coefficient of performance thereof and prevents lubricating oil and a cooling medium from blending with each other to cause inconveniences.
