  • Patent number: 5880822
Abstract: A light wave distance measuring apparatus includes a light-sending optical system and a light-receiving optical system, which are preferably arranged to be parallel to each other. Intensity-modulated light of the light-sending optical system is transformed into parallel rays of light and projected towards a target, reflected back towards the measuring apparatus and detected by the light-receiving optical system in order to calculate the distance of the target from a reference point.

  • Patent number: 5875556
Abstract: A measuring device, such as a planimeter, having an increased measurable range for measuring a figure without increasing a length of the measuring device. The measurable range of a planimeter is based upon the a physical length of the planimeter. In order to increase the measurable range of the planimeter, the planimeter is provided with an operation control switch that functions to set a measurement mode of a computer associated with the planimeter to a suspend mode, temporarily halting a measurement operation, so that the planimeter can be shifted to another position. Thus, the measuring range of the planimeter is increased without increasing the physical length of the planimeter.

  • Patent number: 5748502
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a dimension or aspect of a figure, such as a linear planimeter or a polar planimeter, for measuring a size and shape of a figure and having a calibration mode. The apparatus includes a carriage supported on a pair of rollers for movement along an axis. One end of a measuring lever is pivotally mounted to the carriage. A tracing member having a magnifying lens for tracing a figure is provided on the other of the measuring lever. A computer having a calibrating mode changing switch and a correction value recording switch are provided on the carriage. To calibrate the apparatus, the apparatus is switched into the calibrating mode by the calibrating mode changing switch and correction values are calculated based on a reference figure. Each correction value is stored in a nonvolatile memory of the computer.

  • Patent number: 5727329
Abstract: A device for measuring a figure. The measuring device includes an auxiliary tracer to obtain measurement coordinates when a measuring lever of the measuring device is beyond a predetermined rotatable range. The auxiliary tracer functions to increase the measurable range of the measuring device without having to increase the over-all length of the measuring device. The device includes a body having a pair of wheels with a measuring lever extending therefrom and having a main tracer. An auxiliary tracer is provided on an auxiliary arm extending from the measuring lever. Data from either the main tracer or the auxiliary tracer can be processed by a processor to measure the figure.

  • Patent number: 5551161
Abstract: A figure coordinate marking apparatus having a fine movement device capable of easily and accurately adjusting the marker to a specific coordinate position of a figure and a marker capable of clearly indicating a marking point. The figure coordinate marking apparatus is comprised of a main body having rollers provided at each end of a straight horizontal axle perpendicular to a running direction thereof so that the main body can run in only the straight running direction, a display device, an input device, and calculating device. A measuring lever is pivotably supported on the main body to rotate right or left relative to the running direction on a horizontal plane. A first wheel for fine movement substantially in the running direction of the main body, and a second wheel for fine movement in a turning direction of the measuring lever are provided. The first wheel and second wheel are normally kept a small distance above a sheet of paper on which a figure to be measured is drawn, by an elastic member.

  • Patent number: 5513044
Abstract: A resetting mechanism for an electronic theodolite of the present invention is comprised of a horizontal shaft for vertically turning a telescope, a first cam provided at one end of the horizontal shaft, and a lock lever limited by the first cam. A second cam is locked or released by the lock lever, and operates a lock member. A lock concave provided on the telescope is locked by the lock member when the telescope is turned to a fully down, locked position. Also an encoder is set to a zero position when the telescope is turned to a fully down, locked position.

  • Patent number: 4617739
Abstract: A lead device for a drawing machine in which bars of lead are inserted in longitudinal recesses or bores in a turret drum. Each lead bar is driven by a wire at its upper end so as to project its lower end for writing. The turret is also pushed downward to project the lower end of the lead through a bore provided in a bottom plate on the machine by a press device associated with the lead bar pushing device through a friction force.

  • Patent number: 4616419
Abstract: A measuring device to measure a figure in which a measuring lever is pivotally attached to a carriage supported on a pair of wheels for reciprocal movement. A locking device pivotally mounted on the carriage prevents movement of the measuring lever. Release of the locking device resets data processing counters in the carriage to zero in preparation for a measurement. Measurements are performed by tracing a figure with a tracing device on an outboard end of said measuring lever which sends signals through a computer processor to a counter. A switch on the outboard end of the measuring lever allows measurements to be held.
