  • Publication number: 20230241886
Abstract: A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge head, circuitry, and an image detector. The liquid discharge head includes multiple nozzles and discharges a liquid from the multiple nozzles. The circuitry causes the liquid discharge head to discharge the liquid onto a recording medium to form an image in an image area of the recording medium in a printing operation. The image detector reads the image formed on the recording medium. The circuitry further causes the liquid discharge head to discharge the liquid onto at least one of a leading end or a trailing end of the recording medium to form a flushing pattern different from the image in a flushing operation, causes the image detector to read the flushing pattern, detect a defective part in the flushing pattern read by the image detector, and identify a defective nozzle among the multiple nozzles based on defective part.

  • Patent number: 11535040
Abstract: A liquid discharge apparatus includes a plurality of liquid dischargers and circuitry. The plurality of liquid dischargers is configured to discharge liquids of a plurality of colors from discharge holes to form an inspection image on a recording medium. The circuitry is configured to detect a failure of the discharge holes, based on the inspection image formed on the recording medium with the liquids of the plurality of colors. The inspection image includes linear images of the plurality of colors extending in a first direction and arrayed in a second direction intersecting the first direction. Linear images of at least two colors, of the linear images of the plurality of colors, are positioned to overlap each other in the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20220396072
Abstract: A liquid discharge apparatus includes a liquid discharge device and circuitry. The liquid discharge device includes a plurality of rows of nozzles. The circuitry determines a timing at which the plurality of nozzles discharge the liquid based on a density of a plurality of patch images. Each of the plurality of patch images includes a reference dot and an adjustment dot. The reference dot and the adjustment dot are formed by the liquid discharged from the plurality of nozzles in a first row and in a second row, respectively, of the plurality of rows of nozzles. The reference dot corresponds to a prescribed base pixel. The adjustment dot corresponds to an adjustment pixel adjacent to the base pixel in the width direction. The adjustment pixel is shifted from the base pixel in the conveyance direction by a number of pixels that differs for each of the plurality of patch images.

  • Patent number: 4716276
Abstract: An electric steam iron housing has a sole plate with a generally flat upper surface having affixed thereto a one-piece heating assembly having a front portion and a rear portion. The front portion contains a serpentine steam generating passage with an inlet communicating with a water supply container on the housing and steam outlet leading to steam vent openings extending through the sole plate. The rear portion includes top and sidewalls defining a downwardly open chamber in which is disposed a multilayer PTC electric heating element assembly in surface-to-surface contact with the upper surface of the sole plate for heating the sole plate and the steam generating passage. An adjustable thermostat responsive to the temperature of the sole plate is connected in series with the heating element. The handle of the iron is detachable and designed to serve as a storage case for the iron and the iron can be placed in the case only when the thermostat adjustment knob is in the "Off" position.

  • Patent number: 4326545
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a hair curling iron having a heatable cylinder about which the hair is wound, and the heatable cylinder having holes through it, through which steam may be emitted. A heating element is positioned inside the heat cylinder for heating the cylinder. A water wetted wick is shiftable into engagement with the heating means for generating steam to be emitted through the holes in the heat cylinder. Longitudinally extending rows of radially outwardly extending protrusions are annularly arrayed around and are detachably connected directly to the heat cylinder for protecting a user against inadvertent contact with the heated cylinder surface. An electric terminal arrangement in the curling iron permits rotation of the curling iron to wind the hair on the heat cylinder without twisting the electric power cord.
