  • Patent number: 5325650
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the traveling of a mower comprising means for detecting the conveying state of cut grass in a shooter, and means for decelerating the traveling speed of the working machine while continuing the mowing work by the cutter and the feeding of an air flow to the shooter if the conveying state is more degraded than a jam prevention judgment criterion on the basis of the detection signal of the conveying state detector means. The conveying state of grass in the shooter is detected based on the density or amount of cut grass passing through the shooter per unit time, and the mower is decelerated while maintaining the rotation of the cutter blade for mowing and/or the feeding of the air flow into the shooter if the density exceeds a predetermined threshold value. A threshold value can be adjusted according to the condition of the grass to be cut; for example, high, degree of overgrowth, degree of dry or wet of the grass.

  • Patent number: 5321939
Abstract: A transmission type light sensor is disposed in the vicinity of the exit of a shooter, which has the exit thereof positioned above a grass-bag opening, and the fullness of the grass-bag is detected when the light blocking state of the sensor continues longer than a predetermined time. A light emitting portion and a light receiving portion of the light sensor are positioned opposite to each other so that their optical axes are in coincidence, and they are firmly attached to both ends of a light sensor mounting member. The light sensor consists of a light sensor main body which is placed at one side of a cover, and a retroreflective board placed at the side of the cover opposite to the light sensor main body for reflecting incident light from the light emitting portion in the direction of incidence.

  • Patent number: 5011288
Abstract: A position control system for a moving vehicle comprising a light beam source for scanning a light beam in all the different azimuthal directions around the moving vehicle; a beam receiver mounted on the moving vehicle and receiving light reflected from a plurality of light-reflectors; a detector for detecting each distance between the moving vehicle and each of the light-reflectors; a detector for detecting differential azimuths between the adjoining two light-reflectors; and a calculator for calculating coordinates of the respective light-relectors on a coordinate system wherein a position of the moving vehicle is fixed as the origin.

  • Patent number: 5008557
Abstract: A position-detecting system for a moving vehicle wherein the position of the moving vehicle is detected by scanning the light beam emitted from a light beam-emitting means mounted on the moving vehicle in the circumferential direction centering around the moving body, and receiving the light beam reflected from light-reflecting means disposed at at least three positions by means of a light-receiving means mounted on the moving vehicle, comprising a means for detecting the distance between the source of the reflected light received at the light-receiving means and the moving vehicle, and a means for reducing the rotational speed of the light beam scanning means in response to the operation of the distance detecting means.

  • Patent number: 4994970
Abstract: A moving type working robot comprises a vehicle provided with a means for setting a traveling course between a position of stopping its working operation and an accumulating/replenishing place on the basis of positional information of the position where the working was stopped and the position of the place where the material loaded on the vehicle is to be accumulated/replenished. The positional information is stored in storing means and a control means is provided for traveling the vehicle from said accumulating/replenishing place to said position at which the working had been stopped, or vice versa, along said traveling course when the amount of the material loaded on the vehicle has reached a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4307696
Abstract: An electronic control system which electronically controls the air fuel ratio of a mixture being supplied to a gasoline engine in highlands. An orifice device is provided in a passage through which secondary air is supplied to the venturi section of the engine carburetor. An electronic control unit carries out programmed control of the orifice opening of the orifice device in response to the atmospheric pressure and the engine temperature to create a reference pressure. A further electronic control unit drives a second air control valve provided in the secondary air supply passage along a predetermined operating characteristic pattern in response to the difference between the reference pressure and an actual pressure present in the venturi section of the carburetor. A mixture having an optimum air fuel ratio corresponding to the atmospheric pressure can thus be supplied to the engine from the carburetor.
