  • Publication number: 20090268375
Abstract: The present invention provides a raw coke having such a structure that the graphitized product resulting from graphitization of the raw coke at a temperature of 2800° C. under an inactive gas atmosphere will have ratios of the crystallite size to the lattice constant of 360 or less in the (002) plane and 1500 or less in the (110) plane, as a raw coke providing active carbon produced by alkali-activating the raw coke, which is reduced in remaining alkali content and can simplify washing operation because washing liquid can easily pass through the activated carbon, or as a raw coke for the production of needle coke.

  • Patent number: 7085780
Abstract: Techniques are provided for monitoring a database system. A set of data elements may be read from a database system into a device. The device may be external to the database system. From the device, a set of analysis operations are performed on the data elements in order to identify if any of the date elements satisfy a criteria for being considered potentially anomalous. A notification is signaled if potentially anomalous data is identified.

  • Publication number: 20050203881
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide techniques for monitoring a database system for anomalous activity. User behavior information relative to a subject database being monitored may be automatically collected, analyzed and compared with one or more policies to detect anomalous activity. Embodiments collect user behavior data regarding the subject database from a variety of sources, including an audit trail and dynamic views in cooperation with the database management system of the database. Embodiments employ one or more of statistics-based intrusion detection (SBID) and rule-based intrusion detection (RBID) to detect anomalous database activity. If suspicious database access that deviate from the normal usage pattern are detected, a targeted operation, such as alerting the responsible security officers, generating reports, email alerts or the like, is performed.

  • Patent number: 6882747
Abstract: Concerning feature extraction of documents in text mining, a method and an apparatus for extracting features having the same nature as those by LSA are provided that require smaller memory space and simpler program and apparatus than the apparatus for executing LSA. Features of each document are extracted by feature extracting acts on the basis of a term-document matrix updated by term-document updating acts and of a basis vector, spanning a space of effective features, calculated by basis vector calculations. Execution of respective acts is repeated until a predetermined requirement given by a user is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 6228530
Abstract: Notches (21a, 21b) are formed at the corners of only one side edge (19a) of a metal jacket blank (19) of a rectangular metal strip. The blank (19) is rolled into a cylindrical shape so that its opposite sides (19a, 19b) are adjoined to each other forming an abutment joint (10) and a lower end (19c) of the blank (19) is inwardly curled and crimped to form a bottom, thus completing an outer metal jacket (18). After a cell member (26) is loaded into the metal jacket (18), the upper end (19d) of the blank (19) is inwardly curled and crimped to cause the notches (21a, 21b) to abut the other side edge (19b) of the blank (19), forming a curled abutment joint (20) along a direction (S) which is different from the radial direction (R) of the metal jacket (18). This arrangement prevents any dents caused by the buckling of the outer metal jacket (18) while being crimped, and allows dry cells to be more efficiently produced.
