  • Patent number: 5609747
Abstract: A method of dissolving zinc oxide in which, to perform continuous zinc-system electroplating of a steel sheet using an insoluble anode, particularly continuous zinc-nickel alloy electroplating, a dissolution bath is provided in a circuit for a sulfuric acid plating liquid, and zinc oxide is dissolved in the plating liquid in the dissolution bath. The amount of zinc oxide thrown in is controlled during dissolution of zinc oxide so that the pH of the plating liquid at an outlet of the dissolution bath does not exceed 2.3.

  • Patent number: 5573652
Abstract: An apparatus for continuously dissolving metal powder for use in plating includes a dissolving tank for dissolving metal powder for used in plating solution in a solvent, a filter for separating the solution containing undissolved residue into an undissolved residue and a filtrate, a recovery tank of the filtrate, and a plating solution storing tank for supplying recovered filtrate to a plating tank. The filter is a porous substance having a plurality of liquid passages in the axial direction thereof, and the filter is provided with a circuit for returning a liquid solution containing the undissolved residue passed through the passages to the dissolving tank and a pipeline for leading the filtrate to the recovery tank.A method of dissolving a nickel metal, which has a specific surface of 0.003 m.sup.2 /g or more, is dissolved with the use of the above-described apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5238692
Abstract: Green plant leaves (herbs) are blanched with an aqueous medium having a pH of 6.5 to 11 and heated at a temperature of 80.degree. to 102.degree. C. The reverse surfaces of the blanched herbs and/or the upper surfaces of dough sheet units are coated with an aqueous coating medium such as an aqueous solution of pullulan or gelatin, followed by attachment of the herbs to the dough sheet units. The dough sheet units-cum-herb(s) are baked to produce baked confectionery products with a bright green herb(s) free from the grassy smell and hardly liable to be discolored. The dough sheet units may be either of a single-layer structure or of a multi-layer structure including a vegetable-containing layer(s). According to the foregoing process, biscuits, pies, crackers, bread, etc. with a healthy touch can be produced.

  • Patent number: 4681726
Abstract: A fast breeder reactor has a nuclear reactor container filled with a liquid metal, a reactor core disposed within the nuclear reactor container, and a first supporting structural member which is mounted to the nuclear reactor container such as to support the reactor core. The fast breeder reactor is provided with a cylindrical structural member which surrounds the periphery of the reactor core such as to define an annular gap between the cylindrical structural member and the reactor core for allowing the liquid metal to exist therein, the cylindrical structural member being mounted to the nuclear reactor container by means of a second supporting structural member. The inertial resisting force produced when the liquid metal existing in the annular gap will flow out from the annular gap in response to the vibration of the reactor core acts such as to suppress the vibration of the reactor core, thereby allowing an improvement in the anti-vibration properties of the fast breeder reactor.
