  • Publication number: 20240103935
Abstract: The CPU of the management node measures the power consumption of a computer node while causing the computer node to execute the power measurement benchmark that uses hardware whose resource is allocated to a program to be executed by the computer node, where the CPU is changing the use amount of the resource while causing the computer node to execute the power measurement benchmark. The CPU generates a power consumption model representing a relationship between an allocation amount of the resource to be allocated to the program and the power consumption on the basis of a measurement result obtained by measuring the power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20230350723
Abstract: A control server checks whether a resource necessary for process execution is present in a computer system. The control server determines that generating a placement plan is possible when relative guarantee is possible, the relative guarantee guaranteeing a guarantee volume that is at least an absolute resource volume and, if possible, guaranteeing a resource volume reaching an upper limit volume, for a reservation acceptance limit, and starts generating the placement plan. In a period between right after the start of generation of the placement plan and right before permission to selection/approval of the proposed placement plan, the control server makes a reservation with relative guarantee that for the resource and the reservation acceptance limit, makes the guarantee volume and the upper limit volume for the resource volume of the resource different respectively from the guarantee volume and the upper limit volume for the reservation acceptance limit.

  • Patent number: 11768616
Abstract: A management node that controls a hardware resource amount of a node to be allocated to a distributed data store includes: a disk device that stores an application performance model indicating a correspondence relationship between an application performance and a distributed data store performance, and stores a data store performance model indicating a correspondence relationship between the hardware resource amount and data store performance of the distributed data store; and a CPU. The CPU is configured to: receive target performance information by the application; determine a required performance which is a distributed data store performance required for achieving a performance to be specified by the target performance information based on the application performance model; determine a hardware resource amount required for achieving the required performance based on the data store performance model; and set the determined resource amount to be allocated to the distributed data store.

  • Publication number: 20210255791
Abstract: Provided is a distributed storage device that reduces the number of inter-node communication in inter-node deduplication. The storage node determines whether data that is a processing target duplicates with data stored in the shared block storage. When it is determined that the data is duplicated, deduplication of the data that is the processing target is performed by storing information on a storage destination of the data related to the duplication with a storage node that processes the data that is the processing target. When a read request of the data is received, the storage node that processes the data that is the processing target reads the data in the shared block storage using the information on the storage destination.

  • Publication number: 20120246271
Abstract: In order to provide HSM that can effectively use the storage capacity of an upper Tier in an HSM system, a lower Tier of the HSM system detects a group of files having the same data content from a plurality of files stored in the lower Tier, and keeps at least one of the real data of the group of files having the same data content while deleting the rest of the data. The upper Tier receives the process result from the lower Tier. Then, in response to a read request from the host computer that specifies a file included in the group of files and transferred to the upper Tier from the lower Tier, the upper Tier identifies the at least one of the data that is kept and corresponding to the specified file, and responds to the host computer.
