  • Patent number: 4105902
Abstract: A touch sensitive input particularly suited for use with an electronic wristwatch, an electronic calculator or a combination thereof is provided. The touch sensitive input includes a touch sensitive contact connected to the input of a detector circuit, the detector circuit input being normally referenced to a first potential for producing a detector circuit output signal representative of the first potential. Engagement of the touch sensitive contact selectively references the detector circuit input to a second potential and in response thereto produces a detector circuit output signal representative of the second potential. The detector circuit includes at least an MOS or C-MOS input stage.

  • Patent number: 4098070
Abstract: A digital display electronic wristwatch including a quartz crystal high frequency time standard having a natural frequency in the MHz range is provided. The quartz crystal time standard is incorporated into an oscillator circuit that produces a high frequency time standard signal having the same frequency as the frequency of vibration of the time standard. A divider circuit is formed from a plurality of series-connected divider stages and produces a low frequency reference signal in response to the time standard signal. Series-connected counters are coupled to the divider to produce time-keeping signals in response to the low frequency reference signal being applied thereto, and digital display elements are adapted to display time in response to the time-keeping signals produced by the respective series-connected counters.

  • Patent number: 4093992
Abstract: An electronic wristwatch having calculator circuitry operated by the time standard signals utilized to operate the timekeeping circuitry is provided. The electronic wristwatch includes a timing pulse generating circuit for producing a plurality of signals. Timekeeping circuitry is coupled to the timing pulse time standard signals produced thereby, for producing a plurality of timekeeping signals representive of actual time in response to at least one of the time standard signals being applied thereto. A digital display is provided for displaying actual time in response to at least some of the plurality of timekeeping signals being applied thereto.

  • Patent number: 4091377
Abstract: An improved digital display driving circuit is provided. The display includes first and second display digits, the first display digit and second display digit being respectively formed by a plurality of segment electrodes, at least one digit electrode spaced apart from the segment electrodes and material disposed between the segments electrode and the digit electrode. Regions of the material are adapted to be rendered visually distinguishable from adjacent regions by the application of an electric field across the region. The regions of the material in registration with the segment electrodes are rendered visually distinguishable in response to a predetermined potential difference being applied across any one of the respective spaced apart segment electrodes and the digit electrodes.

  • Patent number: 3969641
Abstract: A flexural mode quartz crystal vibrator formed from a quartz crystal plate having first and second opposed substantially planar surfaces, with a plurality of electrodes on at least one side thereof, is provided. The vibrator is characterized by the placement of electrodes on at least one of the opposed surfaces of the quartz crystal plate, the placement of the electrodes providing a vibrator having a thickness of 0.5 mm or less.

  • Patent number: 3944862
Abstract: A flexural mode quartz crystal vibrator formed from a quartz crystal plate having first and second opposed substantially planar surfaces, with a plurality of electrodes on both said surfaces is provided. The vibrator is characterized by the placement of electrodes on both of the opposed surfaces so that the electrodes on each surface do not overlap each other.
