Abstract: A pin belt type paper tractor comprises a drive shaft rotatively driven at the time of feeding a recording paper, a belt driving wheel fitted slidably in the axial direction on the drive shaft for the rotation therewith, and a chassis body for pinching the belt driving wheel from the opposite sides thereof. The chassis is movable in the widthwise direction of a recording paper and is in engagement slidably at its peripheral portion with a fixed support frame having a length not less than the paper width. A rotary member is rotatably supported by the chassis body and an endless belt is engaged between and around the belt driving wheel and rotary member. The endless belt is provided on its outer peripheral surface with a plurality of pins brought into engagement with the perforations of the recording paper. A paper holding cover is pivotably attached to the chassis body in open and close directions.

Abstract: A paper detector for a printer of the type having a printer head, a platen and two paper guide paths for guiding recording paper to a position between the printer head and the platen. The paper detector comprises a reflection-type photo sensor comprised of a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element for detecting the presence of recording paper inserted in one of the two guide paths. A pivotable detecting lever is pivoted by the recording paper when the recording paper is inserted in the other of the two guide paths, and the pivotal movement of the detecting lever, in turn, displaces a reflecting plate to a position covering the photo sensor so that light emitted from the light-emitting element is reflected by the reflecting plate to the light-receiving element thereby detecting the presence of paper in the other guide path.

Abstract: Grounding members are provided on support plates for an ink ribbon cassette, the support plates are secured to a chassis. The support plates and the chassis are both made of electrically conductive material. When an ink ribbon cassette is placed on the support plates, the grounding members contact the ink ribbon to ground static electricity.
