  • Patent number: 6378217
Abstract: A portable hand-held apparatus for punching light gauge steel framing studs used in building construction to form holes of sufficient size to allow building wiring and piping to extend therethrough includes a control circuit connected to a limit switch and a main switch, and an output connected to a driving mechanism. The control circuit is configured to selectively operate the driving mechanism in response to assertion of the main switch by the user to drive the punch and die assembly from the deactuated position, over the working cycle, through the actuated position to form the punched hole, and continue to drive the punch and die assembly to the deactuated position to complete the cycle and assert the limit switch. The control circuit halts operation of the driving mechanism in response to assertion of the limit switch.

  • Patent number: 6367362
Abstract: An apparatus for punching knock-outs out of light gauge steel framing studs used in building construction to form holes of sufficient size to allow building wiring and piping to extend therethrough includes a compact hand held frame (12) having a generally C-shaped frame portion (14). The C-shaped frame portion has spaced apart ends (16, 18) located along a working axis (20) for receiving a stud (30) therebetween. A punch and die assembly (24) includes a punch (26) and a die (28) mounted opposite each other at the ends of the C-shaped frame portion. An actuatable driving mechanism (36) mounted to the frame is operable to drive the punch and dic assembly over a working stroke range between a deactuated position (52) and an actuated position (54). In the actuated position, the punch extends into the die by punching through the stud to produce a knock-out (342).

  • Patent number: 6223834
Abstract: An impact structure for an impact power tool comprises: a hammer body rotatable by means of a driving actuator, and having at least one pawl member having an impact contacting area; and an operation body for rotating a bit for the impact power tool, having at least one wing member having an impact contacting area, which can be brought into contact with the impact contacting area of the pawl member. The operation body is rotated by intermittently hitting the pawl member of the hammer body against the wing member of the operation body in a rotational direction of the hammer body. The impact contacting area of the pawl member can be brought into point-contact or line-contact with the impact contacting area of the wing member.

  • Patent number: 6120290
Abstract: In a jaw movement simulator in which an upper jaw model patterned after an upper jaw and a lower jaw model patterned after a lower jaw are mounted, and the lower jaw model is relatively moved with respect to the upper jaw model. A jaw movement simulation system causes the jaw movement simulator to reproduce a movement of the jaw of a test subject in accordance with data obtained through imaging a movement of the jaw of the test subject. The lower jaw model is fixed on an operating plate having 6 degree of freedom by parallel mechanism, and is moved on the basis of data obtained through a movement of the jaw of the human body, thereby simulating a movement of the jaw with great accuracy.

  • Patent number: 4858466
Abstract: A measuring apparatus of a volume of a fluid injected from an injection valve. A fluid having a volume V is injected from an injection valve into an injection chamber containing a fluid, same kind as that of the injected fluid, and having a predetermined pressure and volume. A back pressure chamber is formed separately in the injection chamber with a parting plate having an effective under-pressure area A and a bellow sealed and connected, at one end thereof, to the parting plate. In the back pressure chamber a non-contact displacement sensor having a thermal compensation device is disposed with a clearance from the parting plate and the bellow and the back pressure chamber is filled with another fluid having same pressure as that of fluid in the injection chamber. By the injection of the fluid into the injection chamber, the parting plate moves toward the non-contact displacement sensor by a distance S which is equal to V/A. Distance S is detected by the non-contact displacement sensor.
