  • Publication number: 20020121624
Abstract: In an exothermic composition for forming a heater element by lamination and encapsulation in a packaging material, when this exothermic composition has the plastic flowability and is controlled by the flowability, the loss of an exothermic material at manufacturing can be prevented, and a heater element having the better handling property and an arbitrary shape can be simply manufactured. Moreover, an exothermic composition can be distributed and maintained in a packaging material at an uniform thickness without imparting excess load on an extruding pump or the like of a coater. In particular, by adopting such the essential features that the aforementioned exothermic composition is laminated and encapsulated in the aforementioned packaging material and, a barrier moisture in the exothermic composition is moved to a water-absorbing sheet, continuous voids are formed in the interior of the aforementioned exothermic composition, and complex temperature control becomes possible.

  • Patent number: 6165381
Abstract: A viscous liquid deoxidizer including a metal powder, a water absorptive polymer and/or a tackifier and water as an essential component, where the metal powder is a reacting component and the deoxidizer is formed in the form of a viscous liquid. It also relates to a deoxidizing sheet using this deoxidizer and a method for producing such deoxidizing sheet.

  • Patent number: 6099556
Abstract: An exothermic composition, enclosed in a container at least part of which is gas-permeable, generates heat in the presence of air. The exothermic composition includes a water absorber having a water absorptive ability reversibly variable with temperature variations. The water absorber releases adsorbed water, at above a predetermined temperature, to increase free moisture around a metal powder, thereby retarding the exothermic reaction.

  • Patent number: 5879378
Abstract: An exothermic device has an exothermic composition enclosed in a flat pouch formed of film or sheet, at least one surface thereof being gas-permeable. The exothermic composition comprises a laminate of an exothermic reaction layer having an exothermic substance as an essential ingredient thereof, and a single or a plurality of reaction auxiliary layer(s) including other ingredients. The exothermic device is incorporated into a sticking pad applicable to the human body to provide a warming and/or therapeutic effect.

  • Patent number: 5084986
Abstract: A holder for a disposable pocket warmer of chemical or oxidation exothermic type is adapted to be inserted into shoes. The holder containing the pocket warmer is made small so as to be situated only in the toe and the broadest portion of the interior of the shoe. The holder does not extend to the heel of the shoe, so that only a few different sizes of holders can be used for a wide range of shoe sizes. The holder comprises a lower base member and an upper closure or cover member bonded to each other to form a pocket to receive the warmer. Each respective member has a different permeability, so that the holder may be turned upside down or reversed, to thereby change the permeability of a member exposed to air within the shoe interior. As a result, the heating value from the pocket warmer can be changed according to environment.

  • Patent number: 5046479
Abstract: A disposable body warmer comprising a flat bag and in a flat form having a thickness of 2 to 5 mm, comprising a heat generating agent comprising iron powder as a main ingredient and mixed therewith 9 to 11% by weight of a water-retaining agent, 18 to 22% by weight of water, an oxidation promotor and sodium chloride. The flat bag is provided with an air-permeable surface having an air permeability per unit of 5,000 to 10,000 sec/100 cc so as to bring about a reduction in the pressure accompanying oxidative heat generation of the heat generating agent packed in the flat bag. The other surface of the flat bag is provided with a nontransferable self-adhesive layer.
