  • Patent number: 7571446
Abstract: It is one object of the present invention to provide a server, a computer system that can efficiently operate a server, an object management method and a server control method. For each web page that is presented to a user terminal, a server predicts the times whereat users will issue the next requests, i.e., the times NA whereat objects held by the server will be used, and manages objects stored in the main storage based on predicted use times NA. In the process employed for swapping an object out of the main storage, basically the object is swapped out whose predicted use time NA is the latest.

  • Patent number: 6857131
Abstract: A device and method of displaying images and data on a display device. The device and method displays still and moving images in which at least one icon is associated and displayed with each image on a screen. A single screen may contain several images which change over time. As the images change so do the icons associated with them. Upon selection of an icon by a viewer, the device and method will display one of several possible advertisements or information associated with the icon. The selection of which advertisement or piece of information is based on information stored about the viewer. This information would include data concerning the viewer's age, income, address and hobbies. A list of selections made by a viewer is maintained and may be displayed at the viewer's request. The system may also force the display of advertisements if desired by advertisers.

  • Patent number: 6535921
Abstract: In an information sending and receiving system in which an information sending equipment and at least one information receiving equipment send and receive information through a transmission medium, a management message is sent from the information sending equipment to the information receiving equipment thereby to create a list of a content code expressing a data message registered on the information receiving equipment side within the information receiving equipment. Then, a data message containing a content code and data is transmitted from the information sending equipment to the information receiving equipment. The information receiving equipment selects a data message by comparing a content code of a data message and a list of its own content code. The content code list may be created within the information sending equipment based on a property value in an answer message from the information receiving equipment.

  • Patent number: 6487543
Abstract: Information associated with broadcasting, information associated with a network, and information associated with a package are included in data. A terminal device has means for acquiring data from broadcasting, data from the network, and data from the package. The terminal device further has a means for displaying the data acquired by the above-mentioned means together or a means for displaying information included in the data as a link. This novel constitution allows positive information provision to users by a combination of three types of media, broadcasting, network, and package. At the same time, this novel constitution allows provision of new services by making the most of mass storage provided by package and up-to-date information provided over network.

  • Patent number: 5267154
Abstract: A biological image formation aiding system and a biological image forming method are provided in which three-dimensional data corresponding to a standard shape of a biological article, standard motion thereof, and a standard material feeling of an outer surface of the biological article are prepared, and a realistic three-dimensional synthesized image of an entire biological article with individuality can be formed simply.

  • Patent number: 4939681
Abstract: A circuit simulation method and apparatus for simulating the operation of semiconductor devices, including field effect transistors (FETs), on the basis of the mask layout pattern of each semiconductor device. A circuit simulation method is performed by a computer which includes a first step of determining an equivalent circuit of the semiconductor device from the mask layout patterns, and a second step of producing a signal indicative of the operation of the equivalent circuit determined by the first step. The equivalent circuit is determined by extracting resistive area patterns of the FETs and calculating resistance values of FET signal paths to obtain FET equivalent resistances. The resistive area patterns are divided into a series of rectangles which are converted to equivalent resistive elements to then be arranged so that an equivalent resistive value can be calculated.

  • Patent number: 4829456
Abstract: The characteristic curve is moved only along the first control curve, and the resultant curve is subjected to a rotation and a homothetic deformation keeping the similarity, thereby generating an intermediate curve having the ends located on the first and second control curves. A plurality of such intermediate curves can be generated by executing this operation with various values of distances by which the characteristic curve is moved. Data associated with the surface to be generated is obtained from the group of the intermediate curves and is then subjected to a perspective transformation for projecting data onto a desired two-dimensional screen; as a result, the generated data is displayed on a display unit.

  • Patent number: 4733230
Abstract: A displayable color which is the nearest to a desired display color (the synthesis of the color of an original image and an error distributed by the preceding processing) for a particular picture element which is being processed on a scan line (or the picture element which is presently the object of processing) is selected, the displayable color is supplied to a display portion, and the error between the selected displayable color and the desired display color is distributed to those picture elements which are on un-processed scan lines among the group of picture elements in the proximity of the particular picture element by assigning a suitable weight thereto. The processing of the particular picture element may be executed in parallel with a plurality of picture elements on the scan line which is being processed.
