  • Patent number: 9510249
Abstract: A wireless communication system allows a handover operation to a base station communicating through a plurality of frequency bands. The mobile terminal includes a communication unit adapted to perform communication with any of the base stations through a plurality of frequency bands. The communication unit of the base station notifies, when communication through a plurality of frequency bands is possible, a mobile terminal about information directed to identifying a main frequency band from relevant frequency bands in a manner allowing discrimination from one or more frequency bands other than the main frequency band. The communication unit of the mobile terminal determines that, upon receiving information directed to identifying a main frequency band from the second base station during having communication connection with the first base station, that the frequency band identified by the relevant information is a subject of handover towards the second base station.

  • Patent number: 8731554
Abstract: The mobile station device has: a first step of selecting a plurality of base station devices meeting a predetermined handover condition, based on reception levels of a plurality of signals transmitted from the plurality of base station devices; and a second step of reselecting, if the plurality of base station devices selected in the first step include a plurality of base station devices for specific subscribers, a base station device to be accessed from among the plurality of base station devices for specific subscribers, by using a predetermined correlation between frequencies and priorities. Accordingly, the number of frequencies can be reduced, and the ping-pong phenomenon can be suppressed.

  • Patent number: 8731606
Abstract: A priority storing unit (b117) stores, for each of frequency bands predetermined, a priority for accessing a base station device using associated one of the frequency bands. A service type determining unit (b114) chooses, based on identification information received from the at least one first base station device, which of the first and second services to receive from each of the at least one first base station device. A priority determining unit (b116) determines, based on a type of a connection service chosen by the service type determining unit (b114), a priority for each of the frequency bands which is used by the at least one first base station device, and to update the priority stored by the priority storing unit (b117) based on the priority determined.

  • Publication number: 20140120917
Abstract: A communication system includes a mobile terminal; a management device that manage a position of the mobile terminal; a first base station that creates a first cell area and retains management information for managing a mobile terminal in the first cell area; a gateway, arranged between the first base station and the management device, that retains management information for managing a mobile terminal in the first cell area; and a second base station that creates a second cell area. In a case where the management entity of the mobile terminal is changed from the first base station to the second base station, the first base station updates management information, included in its retaining management information, associated with the relevant mobile terminal, and transmits to the gateway a command to update management information associated with the relevant mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 8676200
Abstract: A mobile communication system includes: a mobile station device; a first base station device to which an accessible time is set; and a second base station device. If the mobile communication system detects that a time according to the accessible time elapses and if the mobile station device is in communication with the first base station device, the mobile communication system performs a handover to switch a communication connection between the mobile station device and the first base station device to a communication connection between the mobile station device and the second communication device. Accordingly, disconnection of a call is prevented from occurring if the communication device is in communication with the first base station device when the accessible time expires.

  • Publication number: 20130303175
Abstract: In a handover control method of a mobile station device, it is determined that whether or not the mobile station device is within the CSG cell. In addition, it is determined that whether or not the CSG cell is an HPLMN, in case that it is determined that the mobile station device is within the CSG cell. In addition, a neighboring cell measurement is executed and handover is performed, in case that it is determined that the CSG cell is the HPLMN, and in case that the mobile station device is set to measure the neighboring cell. In addition, the neighboring cell is not measured, in case that it is determined that the CSG cell is not the HPLMN, and even in case that the mobile station device is set to measure the neighboring cell.
